I almost bought a flag......
by AK - Jeff inthe fog must be lifted now for me after two and a half years out of the borg.. today whilst browsing for some lawn decor, i was drawn to the american flag display in the store.
i looked it over good - all the flag pole styles, sizes, quality.
i walked away without buying one, only due to trying to keep wifey out of the hot seat, as she still has relatives in - i don't any longer.

in it he stated that when people die they go to the afterlife that they believe in.

What keeps you from killing yourself?
by AlmostAtheist inevery once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.
not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.
"but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

do you think it is something we should expect, that in our lifetime a nuclear weapon will be used in war or an act of terrorism?
i personally think it is possible, and i think it would be the middle east that would see this happening.

Let's see... terrorism: The calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear - Wordweb The civilians who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki had nothing to do with Japan's attacks. If one reckoned the the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as righteous, then maybe they should also regard the WTC attacks as righteous. I'm really amazed the "us=good/them=evil" talk still works. But it does, especially in the USA. Wake up, people. No nation is innocent.

I am not a Christian anymore but I still acknowledge Jesus spoke words of wisdom. ("Do unto others as you would have them do to you", "He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword", etc.). But I sincerely regret so few "Christians" actually heed his teachings. The world could be such a better place.

Guantanamo Bay Suicides - a PR Move

a top us official has described the suicides of three detainees at the us base at guantanamo bay, cuba, as a "good pr move to draw attention".
colleen graffy told the bbc the deaths were part of a strategy and "a tactic to further the jihadi cause", but taking their own lives was unnecessary.

Are JW esperiences simply Coincidental?
by Smoky ini saw a home video of a dc in san fransico yesterday, in which to camara man asked "what didi you like from day one of the convention?
" among the answers given was the amazing "experiences" the brothers told.. now as far as i can remember, jw's always said things like, 'the experiences show that jehovah is blessing us and is in our favor.'.
but dont other religions have amazing experiences that claim also miracles and blessing from god.
