Experiments with domestic dogs, where one animal was given a treat and another denied, have shown that they posses a sense of fairness as they shared their treats.
OK I stopped reading at this point, dogs do not "share" treats.

Cessna, I hope you stay, I know your experiences and insight would be of great interest to all of us. I think you will discover that the Societys world is very small and you have to keep your blinders on. Out here the world is huge, limitless and your voice has value.
As a woman i think you will be amazed at how much more respect you will receive from worldly men then you ever received as a woman in the org.

As a JW kid, I was told that the reason god created dinosaurs was to eat down the vegetation.
Which only made me wonder why Jah made to much vegetation in the first place?

I know that while I was a true believer, if anyone, especially a wordly person had ever asked me i would have said "Yes, i am very happy!".
Because doing otherwise would have been giving a bad witness.
But truthfully I was suicidal from the age of nine until I finally left the org in my mid-thirties.
I still have problems with depression but I have not considered suicide since i left.

Have you ever lost weight unexpectedly?
by compound complex indear friends,.
i have.. i was out of town doing three days of hard physical labor at 7000 feet, in the blazing sun.
five pounds lost may not seem much, but i sure can't seem to lose it by diet alone.

I lost eight pounds in two weeks when my current hubby and I began our physical relationship.
Previous to that I had spent most of my adult life married to a gay JW. Sex with him probably only burned about eight calories.
I had lots of catching up to do.

Maybe a JC could be sued for sexual assault?
by aSphereisnotaCircle inthink about it, what if your young daughter was assaulted sexually by someone in the congregation.. you go to the elders and their is a jc.. the elders of course want to talk to the girl alone without the parents present and then proceed to ask the girl sexually explicit questions.. i've been in that situation and let me tell you, the jc is a rape in itself.
you can check out numerous threads on this board and also on silentlambs and you will see that i am not the only one that felt that way.. .
maybe a jury would think so too?.

Truthseeker that's part of the problem. Even though the parents obviously give there consent to have their child interrogated, they usually have no idea what they are in for, until after it happens.
They usually don't want the parents present either.
It is grossly inapropriate to have adult males ask sexually explicit questions to young underage girls and demand that they answer.
It is sexually abusive, and with underage children I think it is something that the elders could possibly be sued for.
Anyone else with thoughts on this?

How many of you elders shared confidential things with your wife?

when i was growing up in 70's in a very rural community my father was the congregation overseer.
thursday nights we always had to stay late after the service meeting while my father dealt with matters in the back room.

Then there were elders who "shared" info with elders from other congregations who would have one chatty elder who would tell his wife.
That's just it, there are plenty of elders who can keep there mouth shut.
It only takes a few with big mouths to keep the rumer mill going.
I married into a big gossipy family with multiple elders in multiple halls.
They freely shared JC details with each other.
Even as a true believer i thought there behavior was outrageous. It would really annoy me when the bros would give talks about not gossiping and they would usually direct it at the women. In my area the bros were the worst gossips of all.
