My son has a corn snake, it's pink in colour, quite unique. It feeds on dead mice much like i feed on dead cows, pigs, lamb and fish.

Question about snakes
by callitquits76 inhi everyone, long time no post but i wanted your opinion on something please.. well a friend of mine has just got a corn snake.
its a baby but it will grow up to 6ft.
i never considered myself anti-snake because i know people do have phobias on them, but seeing it in action, including the way it eats, has really put me off - not only snakes, but also, the friendship.

My wounds opened up badly today
by Maddie inthe past three weeks having been so stressful and very sad.
my ex husband died after being in hospital for just over a week in intensive care.. i was just 18 and he was 21 when we first met and after a whirlwind romance we married 6 months later and have two sons together who are now adults.
although our marriage ended after 25 years and i remarried 7 years ago, he was my first love and i knew him for most of my life.

Hi Maddie
I'm so sorry to hear what you have been going through.
All i can add is to bear in mind that your son was at a difficult setting, the funeral of his father so may not want to talk in that setting. My parents are divorced and i often wonder how i'd feel if my mother came to my fathers funeral and how i would interact. We get on fantasticly but with my fathers family there i would wonder how my mother fits into this now that she is divorced from him. Funny thing is i never think about the other way around, guess it's because my father is so unhealthy compared to my mother.
He may not think you are grieving as much as you are, he may also have other resentments against you that he hasn't dealt with, also with the JW thing and his wife there is that to deal with too. Maybe it's an idea to give him a few days and give him a call.
So sorry for how you feel.

1935..and Rutherford's great crowd?
by digderidoo ini wondered if anyone has any information here as to the numbers of jw's in 1935.. i am assuming that the numbers were closing in on 144,000 so rutherford had to come up with this new idea of a great crowd, would i be correct in this assumption?.

What does nicotine feel like?
by Elsewhere ini have never smoked or used any tobacco products aside from puffing on a cigar a few times (maybe 5 times in my life).
even with the few cigar experiences (which i did not enjoy much) i never noticed any real "feeling" from the tobacco.
what is it supposed to feel like?

I only ever smoked in a social setting. I could always go without for days on end, but then when others smoked it set me off. For me, i started smoking marijuana which got me into cigarettes, rolling up a joint with tobacco made me want to smoke tobacco alone eventually.
Now though i don't smoke anything, but i found after a few days of not smoking, that first cigarette gave me a nicotine rush and a feeling of calm.

i stumbled across it whilst searching watchtower.org for their 'new light' on the faithful and discreet slave.. it seems to be instructions from 1995 as to how to deal with an accusation of child abuse, i have bolded the parts i found sickening.

On this background this article was written. It does deal with these false memories, NOT with real abuse. I do not necessarily support the weak attitude by the WT towards child abuse, but in THIS case, the accusations you make are wrong. ... TheOldHippie
What accusations are wrong? Do you mean the instructions on how to deal with the alleged abuser that i have highlighted, the instructions on what the elders can do or perhaps something else?

Come 2014 they will mention it less and less until it goes into oblivion. They will never make a comment that they have dropped it though, much like all the other years 1799,1874,1925,1975 have not been mentioned since.
