Questions for former elders.

This Years Memeorial and MY heartbreak
by PSacramento inso...this years memorial came and went.. on saturday my mom called to invite my wife, myself and my two little girls to the memorial on sunday, i said thank you but said that we won't be going.. on sunday my older sister called inviting us also.. we didn't go, since my eldest daughter asked about it, i explaine dit to her and asked my wife and her if they wanted to do it at home and they said yes.. so after dinner, we all partook of our lord's sacrifice and i explained to my daughters how the taking in of christ's body and blood is symbolic for become one with christ and god.. we always remember christ and his sacrifice and last meal whenever we eat and "say grace" but, becuase of the whoel memorial meal thing, we decided to do a little more.. i read from luke and john.. it was very nice, very special.. then this morning at 8:30 am my mom calls and reams me for 40 min over the phone.. why anyone would think that i or anyone else would want to be a part of an organization that fills people with som much venom and spit, is beyond me.. she basically said that she gives up on me, that i am taken by satan, that satan is working through me and leading me and tha her heart is borken for my little girls.. my mother.... my heart is broken, there is a pain in my gut....

Have mercy on your mother...she's brainwashed as we all were when we were in and reasoned the same as she is right now.
My own daughter has not talked to me in 3 years due to my "apostacy" and yet i'm not even DF.

by IMHO inhow well is this territory being covered?.
how many on here (active jws excluded) received an invitation?.

by sspo ini live in a gated mobile home park in california where no one is allowed to solicit door to door and today.
i received a full page,handwritten invitation to the memorial, with the official tract printed by the watchtower.. it's a great way to get many hours of service just by staying in the comfort of your home but i'm wondering who's paying for postage, .
.44cents per household...that could get pretty expensive since just in our park alone there are close to 700 homes!!!.

I think Memorial is a joke, millions besides the witnesses will attend and at seems primarily to make a witness happy and then you never see them again.
It's usually the same boring talk and for an outsider it does not make much sense of seeing the wine and bread being passed
around and no one partaking.
Just like the rest of the preaching work,lots of time and money put forth for nothing.

Hard to NOT have the last word - let them hang themselves
by Mad Sweeney ini recently had a jw "friend" (the last non-relative one that has any contact with me at all - and it is only electronic) post a typically cultish statement as a comment on my fb page.
there is no good way to respond without going all logical apostate on him.
i know the dubism is idiotic enough on its own to discredit itself and him, but i am still fighting the urge to respond and clearly show how ridiculous the statement was.

According to chronology from the watchtower the flood happened in 2370 bc. Quite a few years apart from 4990 bc.
We wait and see and laugh!
