  Obama went for a swim and disappeared....this happened in Australia with Prime Minister!

  imagine obama goes to the beach with his body guards....goes for a swim and disappears forever...no body, nothing!

  this is what happened with our prime minister harold holt in 1967. went for a swim with a couple friends and bodyguards and disappeared.

  search and rescue found nothing.

  what about misqetoes and vampire bats leeches, sucking blood from other animals?

  i remember a watchtower saying how a lion could use his claws to "rip open husks" ........like when eating a pineapple!

  do you have any examples, thoughts?.

  You know, I think there's a reason why the org likes to refer to itself as the "ark of salvation." Note how all the predator and prey "kinds" obediently march on to the ark, not worried about their safety. I think there's a larger lesson to be learned here: all the animals seem to be under some sort of mind control to get onto that ark. The natural roles are supressed for the greater order.

  Now think of the congregations...you can't be a freethinker, abiding by your own rules. You've just got to follow everyone else up the ramp.

  in the1975 yearbook of jehovah's witnesses on page 121, it says:upon brother rutherfords return to the societys pittsburgh offices, he instructed the societys vice-president, c. a. wise, to go to brooklyn and see about reopening bethel and renting premises where the society could begin printing operations.

  the conversation went like this:.

  "go and see whether it is the lords will for us to return back to brooklyn.".

  The best part about these kinds of scenarios is that whatever the outcome, God is always directing!

  - No Coal = God wants us to move to Pittsburgh

  - Coal = God wants us to stay in Brooklyn

  The general assumption that God is directing overshadows everything. A much better test would be "if we don't get this coal we should pack up and quit". Without something of value on the line what difference does it really make?

  No, the WTS didn't change the bookstudy laws in response to this.

  This is just my ignorant county drumming up some money. I'm sure there's a lot more to this than what we're reading.

  So if the JWs continue the liberalizing trend of demanding less, they will lose their distinctiveness. If the Society reverses the liberalizing trend and demands more, they get more commitment.

  It works out differently than I first assumed. Those papers do lay out a strong case, I must say.

  i have been on various boards the past decade.. i cannot help but see that in some respects, esp.

  american jw ism is more extreme than its scandinavian counterpart, perhaps both ways.

  of course this also has to do with the fact that in american society, religion plays a far greater role than in scandinavia... but it seems that its practiced in a more stern way in some parts in the u (e.g.

  World Population 7 Billion! Witnesses only 7 million? Alota dead bodies!

  offical world population in may 2009 is 6,782,579,400....of these 7 million are witnesses...so thats alot of dead bodies after armagedon.

  12,000 brothers in india will have to bury nearly 1 and a half billion people!

  the 500 brothers in china will need to do the same.

  "Commenting" at Meetings

  i don't quite understand why you call it commenting.. when i attended meeting the question at end were read.. when people "commented" it was never a real comment.. it was just reading back word for word a sentence or two from the paragraph that answered the question.. i would think "commentary" would be something you put in your own words and give a personal statement about it.. .

  why do you call it "comments" when it is more like reciting?.

  or is it different in other kh?.

  Recent article on bride price

  i am new to the site so forgive me if i'm doing this wrong but somebody posted an article by the society recently on the christian view of brice price or something like that (sorry don't know how to find it) and it really sickened me.

  something that i have been dying to say and registered just to do so is that they are so full of it!!!

  does anyone remember the article back in the 40's about how it was not right to tip your hat at a women because that would be elevating her above the man and that the woman was never to be elevated above the man......yet during our modern times they write an article saying that this custom is not wrong or demeaning but rather how to do it in a "christian" way.......so tipping your hat to a woman is wrong but apparantly selling your daughter is aokay?????

  And I do remember that article about tipping the hat to a woman...such a tiny gesture was so dangerous! I'm glad for the info.
