These stories are so extreme that they're almost hard to believe. I only say that because my natural inclination would be to help out whomever is in trouble, and to see people abdicate that inclination to serve WT policy just seems so unnatural to me. But such is the nature of WT mind control, I suppose.

Profoundly Shock, Sadening and Traumatic Account of Mary Aguilar
by Scott77 inafter reading this internet link below about the profoundly shocking, sadening and traumatic account of mary aguilar, an ex-jw woman's systematic treatment and abuse, what do you think regarding the action her jw abusive husband, the congregational elders, and finally, the wts attitude when she finally reported the accident to them?
is there any related experienes that you might have come across?.

A school of which they were proud to say, "No one ever graduates from the Theocratic Ministry School!"
Then why call it a school at all?

Jehovah's Witnesses---A Religion That Does Nothing For Anyone
by minimus inthe reality is: jehovah's witnesses benefit no one but themselves!.
they don't contribute to society.
they refuse to get involved in local interests because that would constitute violating their neutrality.. if sexual abuse allegations are made amongst their members, unless two witnesses can attest to the molestation, they refuse to get the "superior authorities" involved.. they claim to be doing their neighbors a "life saving" work but the reality is that they simply are pests to their "householders".. they are a tax free "religion" and they do not pay taxes.. they are judgmental people and regard the "world" as "worldly" and in the "power of the wicked one".. and if the individual members do not conform to the organization's dictates, they might very well be "shunned" and regarded as "dead".. why anyone would want to be a jehovah's witness is beyond me..

.
p.s many will eventually get fat after marriage.

I don't remember any ugly ones. I do remember some that were nonchalant about arm and leg hair, but there were others who were hot so it didn't matter.

Jw No Shows
by maputo95 inwhy is it that jw officials always refuse to take part in religious discussion shows like that presented by john ankerberg?
ia it because they lack deep knowledge of biblical interpretation?.

They wouldn't want to be in a situation they couldn't control. By confronting householders on their own doorstep, it's a way to keep the leverage.

Facebook: Jehovah's Witness youngsters are vulnerable
by Quillsky ini'm a benign female that started a few fake facebook profiles when we were discussing facebook jehovah's witness groups here on jwn and playing with the jw groups.. what has truly astonished me is how many jehovah's witnesses, and mainly youngsters, teens, have wanted to friend me.
"me", the fake me.. watch your kids, parents.. this really is an important finding imo.
one of my fake profiles, a nice pretty non-existent witness girl, has over 300 young jw friends.

With this post I am proposing that young Jehovah's Witnesses, by being told that the internet is evil, are not currently given the tools - communication, knowledge and life skills - to resist predatory people on the internet.
That goes double for dealing with people in general. I always hated those "I did worldly stuff and got hurt because of my actions" stories that they'd use to spook the kids. You shelter some kid his whole life and he won't know how to deal with other people. Even though I've been out for about half a year, there are plenty of things I have yet to figure out. But I keep my guard up as best I can.

Did your K Hall have "Vomit" carpet like this?
by Open mind inthe hall i grew up in had hideous carpet from a company in georgia, usa that was purportedly owned by jws called "world carpet" (not very spiritual sounding in retrospect).
i saw this monstrous stuff all over the usa.
i'm pretty sure bethel facilities even got some of this stuff back in then.. .

Ugh, I remember those gross "earth tone patterns" we used to have. Brown, tan, and orange. No thanks!

What year Did you Stop Attending Meetings - How Long were you a JW ?
by flipper ini'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.
and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.
so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

I don't know if you're counting from baptism or being raised in the culture (from birth for me), but I was born in '85 and left in '09. I was in that culture for 23 years, from that point. I was baptised in '02.

CO talk with Elders & MSs - Keep up to date with org changes & speak POSITIVELY about them to others!
by LUKEWARM ini'm having a field day with these changes - telling others not to attach themselves too much to the latest generation change because its probably going to change again in the next 2 years, commenting on how terrible the new songs are etc etc.... .
anyway, thought it interesting that the gb is making sure the boys on the ground locally are supportive of the changes being made.
here are notes from the 3rd discussion point in the wts scripted outline the co's was using at this meeting.. .

In other words, keep polishing that turd! It'll shine if you just put some elbow grease into it.

The longest prayer you had ever endured.
by african GB Member infrom personal experience i know it usually happens at the end of a district convention.
it would be either the do, co or an experienced elder.. they usually go through everything that was said throughout the dc and thank jehovah for this and that...... last year i used my stop watch to record the time taken by our do,.
by the time he said amen!
-
SirNose586
Well naturally these are long prayers--their righteousness must be known before men!
