JW's shunning baptized wife and family because of unbaptized husband
by MinisterAmos ini saw a related thread around here but can't locate it so i'm posting this personal observation on what i would call a "high-profile" couple.
rich and bright i met them at the kh.
it starts about three years ago when a family moved to our area; a couple and their child.

Good thing the hubby isn't petty, but the congregation is. I really hate to see that happen. Case in point: a young brother in my hall is changing congregations. I often used him for duties because even though he has the personality of wallpaper, he is obedient and has consistent meeting attendance (just what the Borg wants). He mentioned he was worried about being able to do the mics because his hours weren't up! How stupid is that? Hours are no gauge of spirituality, but I guess they work for real Borg-ish elders.

Maybe Interesting Blood News
by truth.ceeker ini had a meeting with my heart surgeon yesterday, and after informing him of our faith, my wife still holding onto to parts of the organization, the dr. said that, "there is a new form that just came out last year from your mother church in new york.
" what this document does is (1) make it clear that the person is not allowing blood to be used, (2) makes it clear that the dr. will have a court order ready in case blood is deemed medically necessary to sustain life and (3) absolves the person's conscience of any guilt if it came down to it.
i'm not sure if this document has been discussed before, but i thought that it was a bit intriguing.

A few weekends ago, there was a memorial held for a sister in another congregation who refused blood. She was only in her mid-60's, and needed white blood cells. If she knew she could take interferons--fractions from white blood cells--might she be still alive today? And if fractions wouldn't have been enough, how long will it be before the WTS decides whole components become acceptable? How many people will continue to die for nothing?

Sure. If 4 people comprise Group #2, and then three members disappear, the last member is still a representative of Group #2. This person might have to compete or work with the other groups, so in this case, is a group of one.

The JW turn out for service was down today
by headmath ini went by my local kh at 10:30 saturday oct 21 and noted about 40 cars in the parking lot.
on wednesday (two days earlier) i counted 60 cars in the parking lot at 10:30 .
i was expecting a greater turn out on saturday but actually it was far less.

40 cars in the lot? You must have a big hall. I led the group out today, and there were 8 of us. One pioneer sister was upset that there weren't more people. The Spanish groups were well represented, but of the two English congregations in the hall, only one was out.

Moving to where the need is great
by Lady Lee inmany jws sold their homes and moved across country to serve where the need was great.
in the last couple of years i have remembered several people who moved from western canada to quebec where we were told the need was great out west.
some sacrificed their families, friends to go it alone.

The "need is great" everywhere. You visit a congregation and they ask if you are joining. You visit another country and they talk you into moving there--I know because it happened to me in Mexico. Everyone needs help and the congregation members latch onto whatever glimmer of hope wafts their way...

To live below the poverty line in an inner city ghetto for the rest of his life.
Word. I think all politicians should endure this before entering office, not just sleazebag criminals.

Stillconcerned, I mailed you your own copy of Kingdumb News #37 this morning. Can't say when it will get to you, but please, don't reply via mail. It will blow my cover. Just keep it all on JWD. Thanks!

Thank you..
I appreciate it..
I'll drop it off at the post office tonight! Though really, I'm suprised you haven't got one by now. If the local dubs are doing their darndest to get rid of these propaganda pieces, there should be one at your door. Of course, dubs aren't good about spreading these things anyway.

Encouragement JW style
by moomanchu infrom my inbox.
> the talk was centered on being tired/weary.
>stand tall and only to lose them all at once violently ...was she tired?

Actually, I heard that talk as a JW and thought what a better approach to things than in the WT articles. Look long and hard and you will find that the WTS printed word does not give people the benefit of the doubt, that weariness is an acceptable reason for not reaching the impossibly high requirements of the WTS. I found Lyman Swingle's words comforting. For once Job's wife was not made into a tool of the devil.
Good point. I heard comments that Job's wife was "influenced by Satan," during those recent Job WT studies.
