Sign of the Times/the End is Near!!!!!!!!!!
by mama1119 inmy dad told me a story today about a dub he works with.
my dad is a huge spots fan, and he was talking to this dub about the incident a couple years ago when some baseball player wrote a book about all the steroid use in sports...just normal conversation...and this dub shook his head and said..."just goes to show you the end is near, its a sign of the end of system of things".
where in the bible did it list baseball players steroid use as a sign of the end???

For once, I agree with Dr. Shill. However, I used to know some people in my HS who chose not to celebrate Christmas due to the commercialized nature of the holiday. Fine by me.

Any active dub disappointment 'bout lack of persecution from the CRAP TRACT

What's great is asking one of them to explain exactly why we are any closer to the "end" than a few years ago. My PO likes to say that we are in the "last hour of the last day," whatever the heck that means. I told my friend I took offense at that phrase. "Well, it's so obvious that we are," he replied. "Okay, and how do you prove that we're in the 'last hour of the last day?' "
He trailed off....nothing to tell me.
The same PO was leading the group and everyone was having success at placing the mags. "Maybe Jehovah is doing a final gathering work, getting the last interested ones in!" he suggested to the beaming magazine-pushers. That was at least a year ago...

I have great fun in telling friends and family about noteworthy magazines and KMs before they come out because of this site. I tell them it's because of my "MS powers."
My dad is saying, "Well if it's red, then I won't accept it!" as far as fractions are concerned. Where he gets his logic, I'm not sure...but the sad part is this: he could be on his deathbed for refusing hemoglobin fractions, but another person could be alive because he chose to take them...and there is absolutely no reason why any one fraction is worse than another....

What planted the seed of doubt that lead you to leave or think of leaving?

the following experience ties my first doubt in with my present life.
as a backdrop to this, you should know that i was a 5th generation "raised in the truth" jw through my mother (her great-grandfather got "the truth" from pastor russell).

Dang NanaR, that's a great experience. I wasn't sure about the transfusion policy until about the 50's or 60's. I find it interesting how people could stick around after being allowed them, then not allowed.
Mine was 607 B.C.E. Having been given preferential treatment due to family connections, I can't complain about lack of love...but I do see how people get done dirty for not having rank or being good friends with whomever has rank.

This is something my PO likes to say every so often..."We're in the last hour of the last day!" Or...
"Well, if we said armageddon was around the corner, then this is around the corner and knocking right at the door!" he said with a nervous laugh. What a racket: if you are disappointed because the end didn't come like you were promised, it's YOU who has the lack of faith...but if you sold everything and lived as if the end really were going to come tomorrow, you're UNBALANCED....
