for a jw facing the possibility of heart/open heart surgery, what kind of issues/complications do they face because of the blood policy?
does heart surgery mean that transfusions will be required, or are very likely to be required?
would a jw be counselled by the hlc to not proceed with such surgery becuase of the blood issue?
Thank you for the info.

Sorry for the self- bttt, but I thought this may have been lost in the early morning posts as I dont see it in the category under which I originally posted it.

as i heard the lords' witnesses are again campaigning against the wt in brooklyn.
they have warned bethels and officials all over the world that nyc/the un might suffer a serious terrorist attack this weekend which might also effect the facilities of the society.
anyone heard of this?

And dig some of these predictions, including the "last day of this world"! http://www.lordswitnesses.us/appointed_time_of_the_end.htm
i got wind that a very important jw apologist - greg stafford - has left the jws and started his own group.
is this true?.
can someone fill me in?
Not sure how much "organization" it has, but it's called the "Christian Witnesses of Jah" http://www.elihubooks.com/greg-stafford/Christian_Witnesses_of_Jah%20.htm

well, i finally put up the site.
the articles are nothing new - bits from wikipedia etc.
but i hope it will persuade even one 'interested' one to avoid the jw's - and even get an existing member to think.
James Free - Smooth and clean site, nice! One question though, in the disfellowshipping section on your site, you mention that after re-instatement, "Over time they will be allowed to resume field service". I've read others' experiences and seen it in action that upon re-instatement, the ONE THING they allow you to do almost immediately (and at least in the one case I saw, "it was immediately expected") is to return to field service; even if it is just to walk to the door with someone who is in "good standing" without saying anything. Do they sometimes delay the return to field service after a re-instatement? Perhaps it is a case by case thing? Again, - nice job!
i rang london bethel and asked to speak to someone about the recent case in the british press about a jw child sex offender.
the lady at reception asked if i was a witness.
i replied that i can't see what that has got to do with it i just would like to ask some questions.
He then said categorically "we do not believe any divine inspiration is involved" in the appointment of elders. This comment seems to be in line with what JR Brown told someone on the phone a while ago. The recording used to be available from a link on this message board but I dont remember who did the recording. I think it was around the time of the Jesus Cano incident. Of course what is in the literature and what gets said from the platform sounds completely different.
i think this horse is nearing unconsciousness, but i'll beat it a few more times.
the whole sept 07 kingdom ministry question box hinges around the word "endorse", imho.. some apologists are saying, "hey this is not a big deal.
the f&d slave isn't saying they don't "approve" of jws doing these things, they're just saying that they don't officially, publicly, "endorse" them.
It was very clear during the discussion that even studying Hebrew and Greek was neither endorsed nor approved. The discussion I heard very clearly pointed out that the F&DS give food aplenty and the purpose of the R&F was field ministry, "not" studying Greek and Hebrew and determining the accuracy of the NWT. Between the comments from the platform and from those in attendance, I had all I could to to keep from vomiting and storming out the door. Absolutely unbelievable stuff. I wish the general public knew that this organization of "Bible Students" are actually cautioned and counselled against actually studying the the original languages the Bible was written in. I didn't just interpret what I read in the QB, but it what was expressed during discussion of it as well. ugh... (sorry for the rant)
judge is lenient on jehovah witness paedophile from somerset uk.
.
anger over paedophile's sentence - aol news.
Fairmind - I suspect a number will disagree that this has nothing to do with the WTBTS becuase the most current information seems to suggest that this man is still a JW in good standing and is being supported by his congregation, DESPITE his admission to the crimes. It really calls the WTBTS to task as to why they support a KNOWN pedophile.
