ok i know growing up that psychics were a big "no-no" "because they get their information from the demons" but i have to admit that i have had a few readings in the last couple of years... i have consulted a few times with two different psychics.

i am amazed at their accuracy.. for instance, my fiance was looking for a job about a year ago so i consulted with this psychic and she told me he would find a job with a company that has the letter "w" in it and that he would be very successful there.

in fact he did find work with a company with a w in their first name and only after being there a year he got a huge promotion.

Seriously, not a good idea woofer. It's sorcery. . I could tell you stories that would make your skin crawl. Stay away from it. That's my best advice to you. It isn't only the Jws who teach that it's wrong. Consider this, the Jws who condemn it, have quoted spirit mediums as sources to back up John 1:1. (Johannes Greber), and some other spiritist guy named Thompson. Have you ever checked into the Jw occult connections?

Their occult involvement has everything to do with why we were so misled . Please consider that.

Persecution of JWs in Uzbekistan

for some time now, reports of persecution of jehovah's witnesses in uzbekistan has been reported on the internet.. what it the wtbts doing to protect its members in uzbekistan, if anything?

I doubt that they are doing anything to protect them. I want to point out that the jws aren't the only ones persecuted in that area. It's a cultural thing over there. The state religion is Eastern Orthodox and anyone else is viewed a herectical. That includes born-again Christians too.

The deception of the tower knows no limits, has no conscience, and cares not for the r&f who blindly follow whatever they publish. They are ravenous wolves who know full well what they are doing when they write this stuff.

The infamous elipses.... are always a signal to the reader to proceed with extreme caution. The funny thing is, as a dub I never really noticed the elipses, and even if I did, I would have taken it for granted that they were just filtering out extra information for us. I never would have dreamed that they were omitting the most crucial part of the text that proved them to be wrong in order to misinform us!

This same depeption of omission in quoting technique was used in the "Should you Believe in the Trinity" brochure. They misquoted the Early Church Fathers repeatedly as well as the bible scholars,and to top it off, they quoted atheists in such a way that one would never realize that they were atheists. It got so bad that I had to ask myself, why? Why did they go to such great lengths to misinform us by bending, twisting, and omitting the original writings? I think that we all know the answer to that now. They practice to deceive.

The same holds true for the bracket insertions in Colossians and elsewhere in the nwt. As a dub I thought that I had it all going on, and that everyone else was deceived. It's quite the shocker to realize that the exact opposite is true, but I'm a happy camper since I've found the only truth in Jesus.

i've recently been told two conflicting things from 2 different jws.

one says that paul went straight to heaven at death and the other one denied that as not ever taught.

who is in line with wt teachings?

This whole Jw teaching flies in the face of the rest of the things Paul wrote about what he taught would happen to him at his death. Shame, the wt can't just accept what the bible says. Nuf said. Thanks to all.

Mom had another stroke.

earlier this year, i posted that my mom suffered a stroke and we had to put her in a nursing home.

i got a call a little while ago that my mom just suffered another stroke.

she's in the hospital in icu.

Will do Dave. Sorry to hear this sad news. I understand your mixed emotions as I have had similar ones with my dad who is very ill. It seems that diseases that affect the brain cause this type reaction. It is a tough reality to face. You'll never regret going though. Go for her and hold her hand and tell her that you love her.

Kingdom Interlinear question?

i'm in a bible study with a very nice jehovah's witness.. she was kind enough to give me a copy of "the kingdom interlinear translation of the greek scriptures" 1985 edition.. it states in the beginning of the book that the three bible texts.... greek text above comes from b.f. westcott and f.j.a.

hort (1881).

english text underneath comes from "an interlinear word-for-word translation into english" 1969. english text alongside comes from the 1984 nwt.

It is the translation of the jw bible committee..which was their own society governing body members.. One can hardly call it unbiased!
