Missed opportunity
by Gregor inyesterday my wife and i were in traffic behind a brand new chevy trailblazer.
it had a bumper sticker that said "caution!
in case of rapture this vehicle will be un-manned".. i told my wife that i would jump out and take over the trailblazer and she could drive our car back home.

What faithful JW's do you pity the most?
by OnTheWayOut inmany of us have family in the borg, we are anxious to get them out, .
we might be very angry with the borg.. but who among the jw do you really just pity?
is it elders, pioneers, retired folks w/o decent retirement?.

itsallgoodnow: there are many, many of those sisters in the cong. today.
I pity the children the most, but really, I think I pity all of them. I can't help feeling that they are all decieved in one way or another and they are all looking forward to things they will never see. That's really sad.

How many eJW forums do you belong to ?
by vitty ini am registered to about maybe 4 but only look at the others quickly, to see whats going on.
i usually spend my time here.. the big thing i started to notice is that it is always the same dozen or so peeps, i couldnt see the point in going from one forum to the other as they are all talking about the same thing (or poster).
so if you go regular to other forums how do you keep up with all the in fighting (which really puts me off) and the continual banter between the select few.. what do you get out of other ex jw forums that you dont get from here ?????.

This is the only one I've found to be worthwhile.

Were you ever "all in"?
by nonamegiven infor those of us here who are xjw's for varying degrees (df's, ds'd or just faded away {the greatest feat of all}) looking back to your years as an active jw, were you ever 100% mentally?
i thought i was but looking back when i was a ms and being groomed for elder i was very zealous but still didn't like field service but loved helping out.
now i look back i see i was just looking for acceptance from other, not serving god.. i would elaborate but i plan on posting "my story" soon.. how about you?.

Though I was raised in the "truth", and very active, I always had doubts. Looking back I think that deep down, I was never totally there. I've always been quick to detect hypocrisy and critical of things that don't make sense. I usually did not express these feelings to anyone other than my husband though.

I SALUTE YOU ALL!
by new boy ini have been on and off this forum for 4 1/2 years.
its a nice place to vist ---------------but i can't live here.. i think i have made peace with my 52 years as a "watchtower slave" and as chris said in the movie "platoon"--------"but it will always be with me in my heart and my mine"----------------and as he said also "we now have a duty to help others, so maybe they will not have to experience the waste years as we have".. so let us be patient with all who visit here.----------- because i think of myself, many years ago, at 21 years old, the self rightious nazis jw.
who if i met today, would have no problem pouring gas on me and setting me on fire!-----------most people need time to figure this all out------it took me 52 years -----------yes thats right "the dub"ist person on the board.----------everything happens at the right time.

Does God have any one organized religion he supports?
by general inthis is an open ended question meant to iniate a debate.. .

I wish I knew for sure. At present, I don't think so. I'm inclined to believe any grand scale organization by humans leads to corruption and that in matters of faith corruption is very destructive. If the CEO of a coorporation is corrupt it hurts people financially. If a religious org. which people follow on the basis of faith goes corrupt it hurts people's entire life, their hopes and dreams, their life decisions, how they relate to others, etc. That's too much power in the hands of a few imperfect people.

transcript of a disfellowship appeal meeting -they can get you for anything
by jwfacts ini have just received the transcript of the disfellowship appeal meeting from a person i know from a recording he took.
it is quite typical in the condescension of the elders.
unfortunately he did not record the initial meeting.

I think C. summed it up best when he told them he felt they were just trying to get him out, their purpose was not to help him. The purpose of discipline is to help a person. This was not the goal of this body of elders.
