  What % of active elders do you think go peek on XJW forums?

  assuming that all elders have the internet, i'd say that 25% of active elders in the us went to a xjw site just by curiosity.. what do you think?.

  I think it's pretty low as well. Anyone that looks here would obviously be interested in what's going on, so they'd read a bit. Then they'd realize some of it makes sense, and keep reading.

  Of course, asian languages are ignored.
  
  Because the Hebrew people didn't know about them, they didn't exist.
  
  Why did god confuse thier language? They were only trying to become 'closer' to him :P .

  Friendships

  when firmly entrenched in the borg i complained to my wife that friendships in the "truth" didn't seem as real as i noticed worldly people had.

  for instance, the worldly person i worked with was constantly doing things with friends, whether it was going to ball games or helping a friend put on a new roof.

  in our circle of friends we could never count on help, our friends were too busy trying to earn a living and doing the borgs bidding.

  So far, I've had 1 true freind (not counting my internet freinds, of course!)
  
  I say true freind, because I could tell him ANYTHING. We talked about all the things teenage boys talk about, and had fun doing it. I wasn't at all concerned about telling him my secrets. In fact, I told him several.
  
  I think back to those days, and my main problem these days: Trust. I took it for granted back then. "Of course, he's my best freind, I can TRUST him."
  
  One day, I gets a phone call. He then informs me that he went to the elders and told them EVERYTHING. Not only about me, but everyone he knows, even going so far as to make stuff up about my family. As I talked to him, for the first time in my life, I couldn't speak due to shock. He told me that if I didn't tell my mom that we had looked at certain "things" on the internet, that his parents WOULD.
  
  I spent the next few hours before mom came home in the worst sense of dread I've ever had. I just knew I was going to be killed or maimed.
  
  So mom comes home. I didn't talk to her like I usually did, and she asks me what's wrong. I blow her off, trying to get up my courage, and eventually tell her.
  
  I'd like to take credit for twisting her mind, but she came up with her own reasoning: "That terrible boy twisted my son into looking at things like that!"
  
  For the next two months, I cowered in fear at every ring of the phone. And for another 6 after that, I always got worried at the phone ringing. Thankfully, the call never came.
  
  There was already a rift forming between our familys. And this severed our final ties.
  
  I found out recently that he's DF'd or something. He came to our meeting. I of course, couldn't talk to him. Not because of the DFing, but because of what he'd done.
  
  I want to patch things up, as I like having freinds. But I just can't trust him. He'd be useless to me. I did wave to him as we left, and I hope he knows I don't hate him.
  
  
  Currently, I have no 'true' freinds. I have a few freinds that I love playing video games with, but I'd never talk to them about my secrets. I'm forced to supplement with internet freinds. While not being able to see them in the flesh, our conversations are just as real.

  i don't post here much but this board has helped me through the process of extracting myself from this religion.

  i thought i should share an experience that i had.. quick background: 4th of 5 generations of jw's leading back to beginning of the century.

  first to leave the religion of all of the relatives and family.

  This is an extremely interesting subject to me. Spirits, light and dark energy, and stuff like that.
  
  I have no idea what to think about any of it, and I have no idea where to get any information on the subject.
  
  Call me crazy (I probably am), but I've gotten better and better at 'feeling' where people are. For instance, I can tell with 95% efficiency, whether a house is occupied or not. I've 'felt' people in a location I wouldn't expect them to be (on the side of the house not visable to me), and just thought maybe I was wrong. But then a person walked out from behind there, and I was right. That's why the subject is so interesting. I want to know if my subconcious is somehow faking it, or if theres some scientific explaination, or spiritual explainaition.
  
  Only twice have I gotten mixed up. Once, I could not 'feel' a woman in the house, even though she was there. And one day mom was 'invisible' to me. It was irritating, because she kept sneaking up on me...she NEVER sneaks up on me.

  Wanting something???

  have you ever had this feeling that your body wants something, but you can't figure out what it is?

  i mean like is food, a vitamin, a drink, something?

  i have this feeling a lot.

  But I'm just lonely. I guess, technically, that means it's related to sex....so OnTheWayOut is probably right :P .

  What would you say is the main reason why people didn't listen to us?

  when i started going out door to door, i was sure i'd bring a couple of people with me to the org.

  i knew my parents believed in god and the bible, so i was sure i'd be able to convince them with a few simple verses that we had the truth.

  but no, they didn't seem convinced enough to want to study.

  People have a natural resistance to bullshit, unless they conciously override it, or suffer some sort of trauma that makes them more inclined to join such a cult, or have some sort of mental problem.
  
  
  People don't listen to me at the door. They don't even know I'm there, cuz I only fake like I'm ringing thier doorbell.
  
  And I always pass off the door if I can feel someone in there.

  growing up i was always told, (like most of you) that evolution was crap.

  my dads friend was visiting (who is an elder) and was talking to my dad (who is still a dub) about how the universe could have fit in the palm of his hand at one point in time.

  this elder was talking about the big bang theory and how god put it in place.

  My uncle does a similar thing.
  
  If something doesn't quite make sense, he adds his own little thing to it so it's irrefutable.
  
  
  Apparently, the Egyptian Pyramids were build around mountains, because you can't make a pyramid without something to hold it up.
  
  And there are two trees in the garden that were bad (I may be wrong...but I always thought there was one), the tree of the knowledge of good and bad and the tree of right and wrong (or something like that) .
  
  Of course, those metal jets are held up by magic or something...He still can't understand the concept of flight "But it's made of METAL!"

  have you noticed that the wts in their publications literally interpret this schripture, isaiah 11:6-9 .

  6 and the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them.

  7 and the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down.

  but wouldn't that require the maned young lion to evolve. I mean, in order to not eat meat wouldn't it need to have more stomachs like a cow to digest the grassed it would then have to eat. And if preditors did not eat prey wouldn't prey over populate the Earth.

  <br><br>But they want a happy picture for the new system. Because if Lions continued to eat meat, humans would be on thier diet. So by throwing out all common sense, they've made things better with thier 'flawless logic and teachings' once again.

  i just realized something.... no matter how many time that i watch the weather channel, they never seem to get it right.

  i saw the forecast change 3 times in one day... yet i still keep tuning in.

  my wife ( who was never a witness ) said "just keep watching, maybe the light will get brighter!
