I would brave the insults and violence (I happen to think myself skilled at hand to hand) to see some attractive women that don't like to wear clothes that early in the morning ;) .
Don't blame me...blame the hormones. Or the gender, either/or :P.

Would Everlasting Life under Jehovah's rulership appeal to you?
by frankiespeakin ini don't find it the least bit appealing to even think of living forever under the jehovah's rule because he is such an egocentric god.
always worrying if you make him mad.

My jaw dropped when I read "The diary of an Armageddon Survivor".
People always say "Ooh, I'll take that house in the new system!"
It never occured to me, that you might have to pick up the dead bodies of the occupants, thier dead children (imagine clearing out the crib in thier nursery...), and then getting rid of all thier possessions. Pictures and things that were important to the dead folks. It gives me shivers just thinking about it...
I'll have to say something next time that gets said.
Thankfully that won't happen though. Pending nuclear disasters or biological warfare...(fingers crossed) -

I'm still a newbie too. I like to read a lot, then make GIGANTIC posts. And it takes me a long time to make each one, so I don't get many posts per day. Quality over quantity. Well, they probably bore you all to death ;) .
stillin4now (seems to me like it would be stallin, but nevermind), I wish you luck. I'll be "going through" this for 2 more years, until I'm 18, it just depends if you want stories from a little kid ^^.
But the main thing I'm looking at is that you're husband looks too. I've seen far too many stories where one person leaves, and the spouse stays, and it all tears apart the family. I would hate that if it happened to me, and I hate to see it to happen to others.
I hope you both stick with it! -

Wow, I feel kinda lucky.
I guess I caught it early enough that it didn't really do any damage to me mentally. Sure, there's my mother, whom I despise, but I forgive her. Or, at least I WILL, once I turn 18, and have a reason to be happy enough to forgive.
I didn't have enough time to get baptized (I never really wanted to anyway, now I know the reason). And I never got into a relationship, only to realize after a few children that it was all a lie, only to tear our family apart because she won't listen to logic.
Or even worse, treating my children terrible, because they leave the truth as soon as they hit 18, and I don't listen to thier logic.
And at maximum, sitting on my deathbed, thinking over all the years, and suddenly realising it was all a waste. I get nothing from it. I might have even destroyed the lives of others in the process. My children hate me, I'll have never seen my grandchildren.
But I caught it early. So that makes me very lucky... And I hope the best to those that need it. I don't really understand what goes on with you, so I won't say what to do. But good luck with whatever advice you choose to follow. -

Special Assembly 2-Day 2,000 delegates and TWO baptisms!
by MinisterAmos injust got back from the special one day assembly and had to share this important info.
only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.
i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.

Aww...
The worst part of that for me was "two girls about 15-16" .
Two less girls for me to chase after once I get out of this religion...

I never really got that either.
My thinking always was around baseball. It's not a violent game, it's resonable to assume we'd play it.
But how can you hit the PERFECT pitch? After all, we'd be perfect in every way, hand eye coordination, muscle strength, and pitching strategy.
But how can you miss with the PERFECT swing?
I'd never want to be perfect. All the times I've stubbed my toe, it made my life interesting.
Perfect guy 1: "What did you do today?"
Perfect guy 2: "I planted corn in perfect rows, like I've done every year for the past few billion years."
Perfect guy 1: "Yeah, that sounds boring..."
Perfect guy 2: "You're telling me. We can't even have sex anymore, or else we'd overpopulate the earth."
Not to mention that the ammount of dead people would be far more than this planet can handle. I belive the maximum the earth can take was just about 6.5 billion.
People die every day of starvation. "Perfect Organization" or not, there would never be enough food to feed the billions that have died and were brought back. -

Are you 'following a worldly course'? Loaded WT expressions.
by jambon1 inanother example of the wts's loaded language that i actually find quite offensive.. the expression 'following a worldly course' is banded about, often in a similar context to that below, taken from the watchtower of may 1973 (convention review):.
the next oldest, a son, told how he also at one time wanted to go to college and follow a worldly course.
but his father sat down and reviewed the scriptures with him.. so, what is 'following a worldly course'?

"They" meaning JWs :P .
And I just looked up thier "Why we aren't propagandists" and it was crap. I noticed it was considerably shorter.
They also don't say that they don't do the little things assosciated with propaganda, such as generalization. They take the main use of propaganda, as in conquering a government, and denying that. And then following up with some stupid remarks like "They are good, etc, etc." to make themselves look better.
Propaganda can be used for anything, from toppling governments to convincing a kid that he should share his lunch with you.
And then giving a single shred of the definition from the encyclopedia. The one I read said "Writing or saying something that convinces others of the trueness of thier own opinion or belief." or somesuch similar thing. -

That is so wierd.
Yesterday, I picked up a dictionary, on a whim, and looked up propaganda. I was wondering if the Watchtower actually was propaganda, by dictionary deffinition.
It fit it perfectly.
And now, this thread starts today, you give that link, and it astounds me.
"Making Generalizations
Another very successful tactic of propaganda is generalization. Generalizations tend to obscure important facts about the real issues in question, and they are frequently used to demean entire groups of people."
False religion, worldly people, apostates, the list goes on and on. They are EXTREMELY CLEARLY propagandists.
Is there any way I can find something similar to this written in a watchtower or awake, etc?
I can't just go pulling things off the internet, because mom changed the password, and I "don't know it". So if I use this, she'll know what I did, Watchtower site or not. -

Am I allowed to take psychology?
That's not 'demonized' is it?
I just happen to think I'm naturally good at it (maybe caused my 'detection' of the JW's lies early on?) .
Thankfully my Mom isn't so shortsighted to think that extra school is worthless. She wants me to get into computers (Wanted me into veterinarian, but I'm not too keen on that anymore). But we won't need computers in the new system, will we ;) ? -

How old did you expect to be when the New System would come?
by JH ini became a jw at age 28 and no way did i expect to ever get older than 40 years old in this system.. maybe at the extreme, i could have imagined being 45 years old, not more..

Grandma said I'd be the little kid leading the lion, lambs, and whatever other animals they were.
It totally worked out.
At least it didn't come in 1975. Else I wouldn't exist.
It's a good thing it didn't come in 2002, or else I wouldn't have any nephews.
It's also good that it won't come anytime soon, so I can have a family of my own.
And since it won't ever happen, my family will spread so insanely far across the globe, that I'll literally have millions of people with my genetic code in them....happy times.
