  i have a question about my religion.

  when people turn apostate, why do they seem kinda... weird.

  they turn back to false teachings and their bible knowledge even proves that.

  In John 1:1 "theos" is translated to "a god" in the NWT, as there is no article in the Greek text. The Watchtower Society states the same as you: Translating to "God" would destroy the Greek grammar.
  
  Then why does the NWT translate John 1:6 and 1:12 to "God" even though the Greek text in the Kingdom Interlinear quite obviously does not have an article there? I suppose that either John or the NW translators did not know Greek grammar: one of them is inconsistent, but who?

  anyone done some research to refute the handful of anti-gay verses in the bible?

  i've done a bit of research on the net.

  i don't have the links handy, but most of them centered around the assertion that the original words in those passages were mis-translated.

  1 Tim 1:5 (NWT): "Really the objective of this mandate is love out of a clean heart and out of a good conscience and out of faith without hypocrisy."
  
  This is the background for the catalogue of sins in verses 9-11. This catalogue is interesting not because it includes "men who lie with males" (verse 10), but because it in the light of this context tells us what were considered good illustrations of such things that people might do if they did not have a "clean heart".
  
  In the same catalogue of sins, Paul mentions both lawless persons, unruly ones, kidnappers, liars and more. But now imagine that you are "unruly" and refuse to obey the one who asks you to do something bad. (Other examples from the same catalogue of sins can be made easily.)
  
  Would this unruliness be considered to be of the kind that Paul thought of, when we know that you disobeyed due to pure love (verse 5), disregarding the consequences you might face yourself?
  
  Most people would say no.
  
  The "sins" listed by Paul are only illustrations of actions that would typically be considered indications that love was not the motivating factor. These "sins" are sins not because of the actions they involve. They are sins when they illustrate lack of love. (Just as it was no sin to gather food or cure someone "unlawfully" on the sabbath, Matt 12.)
  
  Then why make an exception for one of the illustrations, and claim: this is a sin whatsoever, whether it is an act of love or an act of lovelessness?

  For the record, there are some ISPs that do use NAT or web proxies. Now, this is probably not a big deal, but firefly has been accused in public. So someone with access to the actual IP address might want to perform a reverse DNS lookup and explore the possibility of NAT/proxy in this case. If the httpd logs User-Agent information, this could also give some clues.
  
  Anyway, I suppose I am only curious. :)

  FORGIVENESS

  Forgiving is not the same as forgetting. To forgive is to not hold something against someone. It is to say that "you don't have to pay your debt, it's OK, relax".
  
  Forgiveness is a gift. It can't be bought. If the debt needs to be repaid or recompensed before one forgives, then it isn't forgiveness, as forgiveness implies (as I just said) that the debt doesn't have to be paid. Noone "deserves" to be forgiven. That's why noone can demand to be forgiven, but sure they can ask for it if they want to. To say "forgive me" means "please, don't ask me to repay my debt".
  
  However, if asking for forgiveness is a CONDITION that has to be fulfilled before being forgiven, then forgiveness actually becomes something that one buys or that one receives because one deserves it. This kind of forgiveness would be to demand repayment, and "forgiveness" becomes only a receipt for repaid debt.

  it's hard to establish new friendships when ones i had for years floated away in an instant.

  I've always been a "worldly" person. I don't have many friends. Apart from my wife, I have one very close friend + his wife, and a couple of not quite as close friends that I still trust as friends. And a lot of acquaintances that I wouldn't tell too much about myself. I don't know if this is of any consolation for you, though. :)
