  French Branch Wins Tax Money back from European Court

  as you are aware the french branch won a unanimous victory in the echr on june 30th 2011 regarding the tax struggle worth over 60 million euros.

  there was then a wait of 3 months to see if the french goverment would appeal.. .

  they did not appeal thus confirming the jw victory.. .

  So true snap! Just a few weeks ago 5 of us exJW's met in Vegas for a few days. I originally thought, we'd see each other once or twice but mostly do our own thing because there is so much to do Vegas. Instead, we ended up wanting to spend most of our time together. I was thinking to myself, how great it was even though some I didn't know well, we were instant friends linked ESPECIALLY by what we've all gone through. We sort of grew up the same way even though it was in different places in the world, we left JW, and now we have the freedom to all the bits we couldn't do as JW's. It's totally win win.

  i was just watching a movie and it had a prison scene with a rat.

  my automatic thought was, "oh, i hope there aren't rats when i'm in prison.".

  LOL @ rebel. I totally agree...they are torture...at least they were for me as a kid. I guess my "persecution" (TM) came early...in many ways.

  UnThanksgiving Day

  i spoke to my mother yesterday.

  it had been about two weeks and i felt she was due for a call.

  mother informed me again that my sister was coming for a visit (she's flying in sunday) but she would only be here until friday.

  i miss a few but honestly i could count them on one hand after being in the organization for almost 5 decades.

  some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

  I really don't think so. Getting over the reality of the loss was so traumatic, I think, my feelings now are sort of "dead." I wonder about it from time to time...

  But...I do miss the full social life. And I miss having people that shared history and years of experiences together...there isn't anything quite like old friends talking about old times. But then again...they aren't real friends...I know. I really do know that.

  The truth is what Sir82 said, what brought us together originally is gone. I've been around JW's a bit this year, and when you have worked hard to be a successful exJW, you really have little in common anymore. They usually don't read books about anything mind expanding, they are not interested in the LEAST as to what is going on in the world, next door, their community, the future, the past, history, science....ANYTHING!!! It is so wierd now; it just stands out like a sore thumb.

  So now it has been more rewarding to meet new ex JW's. No matter where they are from, we share that same experience of leaving everything we knew, and it bonds us. It's blast now because we are free to talk about whatever, do whatever...

  So no. No I don't. I just told my still JW gf, "that chapter is closed. I had fun. I've moved on. There are other people in my life now," when she asked if I wanted to see any of my former old friends.

  it is getting exciting here: 1" hail, pouring rain, 60 mph wind, big lightning, and tornadoes expected.

  oh, and the temperature went up over 20 degrees in less than an hour.

  plenty of sirens too.. jk.

  It's crazy!!! I was supposed to eat my cooked carrots because "what if that is the only thing they serve you to eat during the 'persecution' TM?" I mean do other kids grow up expecting to be put in prison? (screwed the font up)

  How long can one continue as an unbelieving JW?

  is it really possible to continue as a jw but not believing in it anymore.

  for how long can one keep up with this pace of life?.

  i will appreciate it if any scientific study had been done on this and what has the result showed?..

  Woe is me...

  i need to get this out and this is the only place i know that it will be ok to do so.. so i've been out (inactive) for over a year a half now and decided i wanted a relationship with a non-jw, obviously.

  i'm in my late 20s and never really had a girlfriend.

  it doesn't help that i'm an introvert and not a very social person, add to that the guilt and control issues i have from jws and i don't think i have many outgoing attractive qualities.. i have been on dates with about 4 girls so far, one i approached randomly and the others from online dating.

  (Gosh, I was trying to put into words exactly what Robdar said so succinctly, lol. Thx Robdar )

  As much as you want to "make" something happen, at times it will be the most elusive when you are "expecting" a specific response from another person. The best thing to do, like Robdar said, find things to do that interest YOU. It could be as simple as a running or walking club, wine tasting, book club, community gatherings...cleanups and food drives. A woman who is about something and has something going on will be attracted to the same in a man.

  Being busy in creating your own rich, full life will be an attraction to women. Go get em!
