  I'm telling you this RAPTURE thing freaks me out big time. Dead people floating kind of sideways up to heaven with the living (only those who believe in Christ). I just think of my poor pets! Plus being in the truth for so long (NOT NOW) I really was into the Paradise Earth thing....

  Yes, the special talk is geared towards non-witnesses who have gone to the Memorial as a follow up. You may need this cup of coffee to stay awake.

  JW's to those who died in 'Jonestown'

  it frightens me to think there is even the slightest link.

  i have doubts the society would do such a huge thing as passing the poisoned fruit juice but in many other ways they have followers ready to kill themselves for the 'cause'.. no blood etc.

  then you get the explempary dubs who were killed by nazi's for their faith.

  You know, I watched that special on TV last week (about Jonestown) And I kept recalling the sister I studied with always saying that if they got the word from "Bethel"" to all go off and do something...maybe not suicide, but all meet somewhere just before the end...they would all follow. So I said "what if the governing body said for you all to go and jump off a bridge?" And they said they would follow without question. JONESTOWN...

  the jw's knocked on my friends' door while he was cleaning his bird cage.

  the jw's said "we'd like to give you something" and handed him a copy of the latest wt.

  he said, "great, that's just what i need, thanks" and placed it in the bottom of the birdcage then slammed the door in the jw's faces.

  In 1967, we were all hippies hanging out on the corner when some young dudes cames over and gave us all a "TRUTH" (Blue Book). Read it, sounded like the truth to me and started attending some at home meetings.....

  Happy Friday 13th! Are you superstitious about anything?

  a friend kindly pointed out it was friday 13th!!!

  now i am not normally superstitious about anything, but i try and avoid going out on a full moon and am not overly keen on friday 13th.

  i know its irrational but hey - i'm female (sorry that was a bad joke)!.

  ANYTHING EXCITING EVER HAPPEN AT YOUR KINGDOM HALL?

  did anything exciting or alarming ever happen at your hall?

  i remember only funny incidents, like one brother getting up there with his zipper down.

  (i knew alot of brothers after that felt no shame to actually check down there before going up on the podium!

  Well, uh, this brother that was hosting a book study (Daniel) wa sooo handsome, I could not concentrate. He's from Sicily and is tall, dark and handsome, has a sexy accent and ALL the women (Thats who goes to all the book studies) KNOW he's hadsome. And, well, it was hard to concentrate....Real hard.... I say good looking men should not give book studys to women of a certain age! But his personality turned me off. He was always pontificating on how much land Jehovah was going to give him after Armagedden. He says 10,000 acres at least. Can you imagine? He was a little obsessed with it. Just another reason why I'm not there anymore.
