  How come the JWs don't celebrate the Jewish Holidays?

  how come the jws don't celebrate the jewish holidays?.

  were they not started by god, there for not started by pagans..

  Always puzzled me. All those Festivals, they all kinda fall around the same time of year in the Bible. Don't have the list in front of me, my friend has it, but we should be celebrating those. Maybe the JW's think too much partying might be going on at the Festival of Booths.???

  I Feel so alone

  hi everyone, well im totally new at this but i thought i would give it a go anyway.so here is my story(short version).

  well i have been with my boyfriend for 2yrs now and the last 4months he has started to get back into witnessing.

  i have said from day one that i dont want to be one, but i did attend a meeting, memorial and some studys i did this for him to see what it was all about.

  that's about the only thing i just can not get past.

  i have gotten over many, many of the things i grew up with, except that one.

  Probably....Iran is gonna mess with Isreal and THAT'S serious. Maybe they will bomb us, too. Then Jesus will come. "If Jesus didd not interfere , all man would be destroyed" I'm paraphrasing.,

  Local Needs on Farting! I'm Serious

  in my decades of the "truth" i have heard scriptures twisted in an olympic manner to apply to local needs.

  there were so many on various sexual activities that i tempted to throw money on the platform!.

  i even heard from a reliable brother of a local needs on farting.

  Would you EVENTUALLY be happy in a JW dominated new system?

  many here say that they wouldn't want to live in a world dominated by jw's.

  i understand.. i know that i wasn't always happy under their rules and way of living.

  i don't like going to meetings, especially 5 a week.

  at about 6:30 this morning i was startled awake by someone pounding and/or kicking on my door.

  thinking wtf i pulled on my jeans and a t-shirt (i'm really glad i did this) and made my way downstairs.

  i looked out my front window and nobody was there so i headed to the backdoor.

  My God, it could happen to anyone. Keep a weapon (I don't use a gun). But I have a samuri sword between my matress and box spring. Also, LONG BEFORE Sharon Stone used one, I have my fathers rusty ice pick there as well. I will fight and am not afraid of anyone. I think, until it happens to me!!!!

  I made a U turn at the Kingdom Hall parking lot during a meeting

  i do that once in a while..... there weren't many cars at the meeting sunday.

  the things you can notice while going in the parking lot...... first of all, the first cars parked are those who get there first, and yes the elders came in first place.....then who gets to the kingdom hall the last.....like usual, the inactive and those who were disfellowshipped a couple of times, like the last car that was parked there at the very end.

  i'm still surprised that they went to the meeting.

  Yeah, was up with the elders hanging outside during the meetings anyway? I had heard they were "guarding cars" so no skells broke into them. But, the hall is in a lovely neighborhood, scarcley populated, etc. And when you catch site of them, they are kind of relaxed, and like, cool...????

  What would happen if all of the "annnointed Ones" die before Jesus returns?

  .....this is a hypothetical.

  most of us know that they will change doctrine in order to keep this going.

  but, if somehow the doctrine isn't changed, and there are no more 'anointed ones' left in the org....and if jesus hasn't returned yet...what happens then?

  Punishment

  i believe i get punished or at least compensated for certain things.

  for example, it seems any reward from god to me is followed by a punishment of some sort.

  (ie: i finally get the disability i've been fighting for for 4 years and finnaly get it and my 6 year cat died) stuff like that...
