Ozzie I dont want to turn this into a dispute. This was intented to share my belief in the softer side of the bible and for others to say what they think, not to start a debate. If you dont agree thats ok, if not why dont you agree with the comfort of that scripture?

The softer side of the Bible
by agapa37 into many times the bible is fired upon and put in negative light due to the contents of it.
however i would like to post some encouraging scriptures from that book.. 1) for those experiencing trials because of illness.
revelations 21:4-5.

Ok crumpet the one in Rev. 21:4-5 is one of my favorites because ALL humanity is touched by illness. I know the responce from most people when they read this scripture is. "Why doesnt He do something about it now?" That being said it is still encouraging to know that God will wipe out EVERY tear from our eyes and death will be no more! Neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will pass away..........write because these things are faithful and true.

To many times the bible is fired upon and put in negative light due to the contents of it. However I would like to post some ENCOURAGING Scriptures from that book.
1) For those experiencing trials because of illness. Revelations 21:4-5
2) For those who are hard pressed by economic problems. Psalms 72:8,16---Matthew 6:33
3) For individuals who are discouraged due to their own shortcomings. Psalms 34:18, Psalms 103:13-14, 2Peter 3:9,15
Those are just a few to mention. What are your thoughts?

Have you made what you consider to be life-long friends here?
by Crumpet in.
now that you have attended apostafests and gotten to know people over the phone or by email here at jwd do you feel you have made life long friends;you know the kind you'd expect to come to your wedding or to be there at your funeral - would drop in on for coffee if you ever happened to be in their part of the world?.
or is it primarily just a forum of faceless entities who you appreciate the comments and support of online but don't necessarily feel an affection for or an urge to meet or further cement that friendship?

All sex in dangerous and sinful
by Norm infor the umpteenth time the watchtower society has published an article about sex.. this time i am referring to some material they have seen fit to publish on their website:whats wrong with premarital sex?.
http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2004/7/22a/article_01.htm.
as we know god is extremely preoccupied with sex.

Norm actually I see nothing wrong with the advice in those articles. The veiw that was written in those articles are Gods veiw on sex. He doesnt want his worshippers to engage in premarital sex. They even go so far as to help young ones about the dangers of putting themselves in a situation that will lead to such an activity ( Fondeling, oral...ect...) I think it is good advice, something that I taught my oldest from her youth up and Im proud to say she is 18 and not Married and hasent had sex and is a well rounded young woman of society, and on top of that, she is pleasing Jesus and God.

Is it possible to go to university and still come out a dub?
by Crumpet inthe reason i ask is that my best friend all the time i was growing up was a boy about 5 years older than i was.
his parents were at lot less strict than mine and as he was super brainy after he finished public school and sixth form he went off to one of the country's finest universities.
the only thing that bugs me now about this is that i know he was incredibly clever - how could he go to uni and still be a dub?

Ozzie I did look up that link and found it encouraging that there are groups that a person can associate with on campus. However for a JW i would imagine it would be hard to find such a group that would benefit them. Seeing that jws and most other Christians organizations do not believe the same im pretty sure that a JW would not spend time with such groups. But at the very least it is good to know the Christians of the world see the need to Keep God and Jesus at the fore during there education.

Separated and dating a JW
by goldenshell inis the 1st time i write in here .
am really confused about my jw boyfriend attitude .. am separated and with a child .i went through a really bad time after separation (7 months ago)and one of the reasons the relashionship wth my husband ended is because i fell in love with my actual boyfriend ..was love @1st sight ...we didnt make love 4 obvious reasons related to his faith but @the beginning things were much easier :he allowed me to touch him in his intimate parts ,we touched each other (we saw each other naked without making love once)and was very exciting...but the more we were getting involved the accraction was growing more and more and even if i am from a different belief (converted to islam)we agreed that nobody should try to change the other or impose anything ,,,but now i feel he is a bit selfish >he doesnt allow me to touch him under the belt (telling me that recently he discovered he is not allowed to do that )he doesnt even touch my breast because he is not supposed to(after he did before)he is 30 years old ,very good looking man and he keeps telling me when he sees me (once a month :which is even too much)that he cant resist me !but is actually the opposite !!
!he is resisting me ...before i will be able to committ to him i will have to wait 3 years which means also have sex >i dont know and i dont think i will be able to resist after 5 years of marriage and ''regular'' sex life //i am tired of seeing him once a month because his family doesnt know about us (he tells me that if they knew they would tell him to stop helping them with money and to stay with me :but he doesnt wantto make that choice, since he was young he supported the family //on top of that after marriage he doesnt want to have children and he tells me that i have already 1 child (we spoke many times bout that and to make sure he wont have children he wants to do an operation that will sterilize him ).

golden shell you asked if there were any current jws here and i must admit i am one. I am no different from most people here except that I choose not to leave off from Serving Jehovah the way it is outlined by the Witness. That was in responce to your previous question and not intented to start an arguement with anyone here
