  Disfellowshipping in America- more commonplace

  when i was in the states, texas to be accurate, i attended some congs and got to speak to a few people, and i couldn`t believe how many times individuals were d/f, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and they were also married the same times as well, in the so called `truth`.

  i did feel that it made a mockery of the `truth` as in england, most people are only d/f once, very rarily twice or more.

  i know america is more advanced in many areas, good things and bad, but i was shocked at the ratio out there.

  if i compare the congregation i attended 20 years ago, and the same one today, it would seem that it's just the core that's left.

  many left or got df'd years ago.. and those that are left, are either ms, elders, or former ones.

  and then there's the kids who grew up.. i wonder if the congregation is getting more and more refined as people are df'd?.

  Womens Right`s are they Wrong?

  women today fight for `women`s right`s` but are they doing women any favours?

  as far as i can see, they have just made it harder for them.

  now they are expected to have the kids, work full time, clean house, cook, babysit, taxi drive, nurse, etc., i think they have done us a disservice, by trying to be `equal` to men in the workplace.

  i noticed that some others who have been here since 2004 still have the title "newbie".

  not for me, i might add.. my boyfriend, who isn't a big drinker, went out with his best mate and a few other friends last night on a birthday celebration.

  they went to see some led zeppelin tribute band, and around a few pubs as well.

  he staggerred in at around 1:30am, just after i'd gone to bed, very much the worse for drink, and had to make frequent visits to the loo all night.

  Today, 23 years after leaving, I am numb. But I have gone through many emotions anger, depression, fear. Some people say there are only 2 emotions fear and love. Anger and depression mask fear. I dont know if I believe that but I've heard it. I've never had the emotion of joy because I was a witness.

  Thoreau said" people live lives of quiet desperation."

  Elaine on Seinfeild said she'd rather be thin and misserable than fat and misserable.

  I think the human conditon gravitates toward misery, so it would be convenient to blame our misery on the Jehobahs witnesses. Too live life to the fullest the blame trap must be avoided or overcome.

  If we came from evolution, how did a male and a female develop at the same time to produce offspring? It's all too confusing for me, maybe I should just have faith in something and be satisfied with that. I think I will go watch TV and believe what I see.
