I lived through it, I was deffinitely under the impression that 1975 was the end. I remember not going to college working partime and pioneering and thinking to myself I hope my mother didnt hook me up with a bunch of wackos.

Let's just get something straight about 1975.
by WTFBBQPWNT innobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.
in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?
there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

Saw My Mother!!!
by RichieRich ini was on my way home today, and i passed my mother on the road.
tears came to my eyes immediately, just at the sight of her face.. i hate this religion.. but i love my mom.. i can't even remember, when the last time we spoke was.. i just want to sit down and talk to her, but i can't- i won't- because its her fault.
i left a religion, she left her son.

How do you choose an e-mail address?
by Fe2O3Girl ini have finally gone onto broadband today.
i have a new isp, and i am thinking of changing my e-mail account to them.
it would certainly be a good way to leave behind all the spam and marketing e-mail for a few days.. my problem: choosing a new address.

How Would You Explain The Stupidity Of The Blood Doctrine?
by minimus init seems like the witnesses are going to be told that they they now can take blood---at least some of it!
i asked my mom a few minutes ago if she would take blood fractions and she said "no!".
i gave her a head's up on what to expect from the new km.

Today was the strangest day of my life
by Asheron ina little background..... i was a dub from age 7 to age 18 or so.
my first love was a girl at a local hall.
we will call her t. as a young witness in good standing i did everything by the book, group dates, little sister shaparone, stealing the occasional kiss and felling guilty about it.

CAN IT BE DELAYED UNTIL 1914?
by under_believer infrom the july 15, 1894 watch tower: .
can it be delayed until 1914?
seventeen years ago people said, concerning the time features presented in millennial dawn, they seem reasonable in many respects, but surely no such radical changes could occur between now and the close of 1914: if you had proved that they would come about in a century or two, it would seem much more probable.

Some people are just going to be miserable no matter what. Thats the way they are wired and they havent bothered to change. So avoid those people. And then some people need a hobby or an avocation in life. I think thats why a great many become witnesses to begin with, something to do. When they stop being jws they need something else. Its just the human condition

Which is greater, your time IN, or your time OUT?
by gaiagirl inspecifically, were you an active jw longer than you have been inactive or out of the organization, whichever applies?
i was active for about 15 years, then faded into inactivity, although never df'd or da'd.
time out hasn't yet caught up with time in, but time out is gaining.

33 year in 20 out. But I was born in it. I think I only embraced it, tried to apply myself to it, for 5 years. I had to get baptized at 19 to please my inlaws, and to be able to marry my lovely wife. And for 5 years after that I tried to be the best, pioneered 1 year, ministerial servant for 5 years. Dissilusioned and dissapointed in 76. Walked away in 83.
