Jesus Christ died for PEOPLE not for an organization or to establish a religion, church, papacy, building program, publishing society ....

The selfish nature of the WTBTS is easily shown in that it says that no ones salvation is guaranteed, but the organization's is! THEY ARE A CORPORATION - technically in law, a stack of papers that is given the powers of a person to own, buy, make contracts, hire people, earn and spend money. If the laws regarding corporations change, so does a corporation. Corporations are psychotic sociopaths based on their entirely selfish behaviors - should they actually have been a live person.

Just about every religion in existence has reformed people. Its not an exclusive claim. The Watchtower's Works + Faith = salvation is a sham.

John 3:16" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

NOT: "exercising faith" with the Watchtower's long list of required behaviors and works implied. (They admit to that heretical alteration of John 3:16 with a bogus claim of a technicality in the tense of the word.)

Ephesians 2:4-10 "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

It was intended for us to be good in our behavior - good deeds can not save us from Gods wrath even after only one sin. Only faith qualifies us for salvation. Thinking that the blood shed by Jesus wasn't enough, as if we could augment that great a sacrifice by any number of works which we couldn't perform perfectly anyway, is a great insult to God and a sin in itself.

Leviticus 17:11 "it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life."

1John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

ALL SIN. Ephesians 2:8,9 - NO WORKS needed to QUALIFY or augment or maintain salvation. Bad behaviors sufficiently heinous do DIS-QUALIFY. Belief that failure to perform some sort of good deeds or works DIS-QUALIFIES makes works necessary for salvation by implication. Only believing that Jesus paid the penalty IN FULL qualifies one for salvation.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." A wage is earned, a gift is not.

Romans 4:4-5 "Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness."

It can't work both ways - salvation by faith alone (based on Apostle Paul's elaboration) AND salvation by works + faith (based on a mis-interpretation of James words. Good works prove their is a heart-beat and brain-wave and thus a living faith. Performance can't create faith.)

IS YOUR FAITH IN SALVATION BASED ON MEMBERSHIP OR ASSOCIATION IN AN ORGANIZATION?

Curtis Thompson and his supporters thought so. Both have thus failed to actually have FAITH in the full value of Jesus blood.

I quoted the NIV but prefer the Holman Christian Standard Bible. Read a Bible translated by person's who aren't intent on forcing you into a mold of service to a publishing corporation. Especially such a one as the Watchtower that constantly re-arranges it's "truth", endorsing sociopathic behaviors and requiring a belief that faith wasn't enough. Didn't the Watchtower's editors in fact expect you to believe that God misled us about how to get saved and they explained it more correctly?

Since the 1980's or so I heard that the Watchtower bought properies in Brooklynn through corporations that were in the personal name of some "Brother" I'll call X. I was told Brother X donated his good conscience to the cause of taking donations given to a non-profit 501C3 and purchased real estate in his personal name. The reason given for this was so that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc could then pay property tax to stop the New Yorkers from complaining about all the free services they were receiving.

The letters asking for donations for buying those properies went through the United States Postal Service and that sounds like possible MAIL FRAUD.

The recent or near future sales receipts of those properies in Brooklynn would easily be received as belonging to Brother X - Since there are few who would remember those details and few knew and very few people who knew would dare argue and complain - since disfellowshipping is quaranteed and that means eternal destruction, according to the Watchtower - Brother X could then possibly divide the spoils with his other conspirators and walk easy street with the loot.

That scenario is felony FRAUD. With multiple counts. And could fall into the RICCO act's provisions for prosecuting a corrupt organization. Then the authorities would be de-501C3-ing the false-faced Watchtower and charge them for decades of unpaid taxes of all types.

The FBI should look into it. It seems that there is a fraud. The WT is a fraudulent religion.

They run no charities. Feed no starving people. They house no orphans.
They took donations for Katrina and put the money into their general fund and did not do any relief work on record.
They use free labor where numerous individuals have worked double shifts in the printery 16 hour days plus meetings and family breakfast time leading to serious sleep deprivation.
The Watchtower took donations to buy property for individuals to own in their names.
The WT charged for literature based on a fee schedule that was presented as a comparision list of what other religious publications cost and that is distributed on a "donation basis". The "donation basis" distribution prevents sales taxes from needing to be collected.
The Watchtower collects Property Insurance Premiums from congregations but ask or require the Congregation to pay for any losses.
The Watchtower makes mortgages and charges interest to build Kingdom Halls without being a Bank and on property they then hold the Title to even after its paid for.

Does any one think for a minute that any of that sounds honest? Where is the F.B.I. and when could they look into this?

I'm out and staying clear of the falling parts.

Dear Finally Free,

Whoa, lots of petty stuff but goes to show that they want CONTROL and revenge. My wife and I are busting up laughing about the chairs! The list of sins for disfellowshipping / ex-communication is specific and they use the process for petty junk. Its about psychopathic / sociopathic control.

I have been SO HAPPY since leaving - freeing my conscience and going to Christian churches - and my wife has friends and ladies Bible studies like from Priscilla Shirer or Beth Moore, my son has dozens of playmates, he got guitar lessons from a 17 year old boy here and studies piano now with a retired classical musician, who sang at Carnegie Hall!, for $13 a lesson. He has been to a basketball camp, country carnivals, sings in a boys choir, gets VBS (Vacation Bible School), AWANA which is group activities then Bible verse memorization with lessons, Sunday School with kids learing at the appropiate level for his age, like in public school.

I teach the boy's choir, sing in the adult choir, and sing bass in a mens four part harmony group with six other guys. I always wanted to learn harmony. I give devotionals every month at our weekly prayer breakfast. I choose the subject and content and how long I speak.

Is there really any down side when what you are leaving is so puny in comparison with love, faith, and a good Baptist pot luck supper?

It is going to be OK. Jesus said whoever gives up family or friends for his sake will get hundred-fold now and later. Pray, truly do ask God for all your needs, never think God isn't interested in EVERTHING his children are doing.

You need to have faith that you are making a WISE choice to remove yourself from the WT org. I grew a beard after an ugly divorce WT-style and they "marked me" ever since that. Over the next decade when I started discounting the WT editors sincerity and contradicting their doctrines and stupid comments they black-listed me and treat me as D-F'ed or D-A'ed even though no meeting with a team of three ever occurred or any letter was sent or received. They didn't really want the truth just their version without any competing ideas.

I prayed over the choice to wear a beard! I asked, "Is it OK?" The Lord told me it was OK, their was nothing to worry about.

When I learned, by accident, that the Watchtower joined the United Nations as an NGO in 1991 and left in 2001 after being exposed - I began to research them on the I-net and at the library. Penton's book and Raymond Franz's (I have corresponded with him) are great sources of information to bolster your resolve. Leaving the Watchtower is a WISE CHOICE!

I have found excellent Bible study and discipleship programs - which I can choose from a variety of offerings - at my local Southern Baptist Church. Baptists don't have an organizational like the WT's with centralized CONTROL. Each congregation is more or less autonomous. The Baptist Faith and Message is a pocket sized pamphlet with 17 topics and over a thousand scriptures referenced. That's the source of Baptist doctrine -The Bible - not The Doctrine Of The Month Club. Get a copy. There is a web site or any Baptist Church should have them. I have taken two years to unravel the spider's web of deceit and trickery of doctrine that the WT taught me. Jesus is god, our god and he is called such in Isaiah 9:6 "And he will be called ... Mighty God", he has THE GOD (ton theon - Gk) as his God but nevertheless is ours. (Use http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search= for a choice of numerous Bibles with an easy look-up feature and search. I use the Holman Christian Standard Bible - The NIV is OK but Calvinistic.) Salvation is by faith in Christ alone. I believe that a person is qualified for salvation only by faith but is disqualified by serious sin or failing to care for other people. Matthew 25 : 31-46 is not about being sheep-like or goat-like, it is about being separated as a shepherd might do. The only criteria JESUS GAVE for adverse judgement is failing to care for other peoples needs, and without discriminations.

Read the plain words of Holy Scripture. Face value reading is usually the only meaning however it may sound. Imagine what a Hebrew thought about Isaiah 7 : 14. A virgin having a baby is nonsensical but it happened as written - "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"—which means, "God with us." - Matthew 1 : 22, 23

"When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me" - John 16 : 13, 14

Other entries here note how the WT thanks Jehovah and the FDS for their "truth" but not Jesus! You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. You will have the guidance of the Holy Spirit just for asking The Father. The Holy Spirit and those who follow his leading will Glorify Jesus. He is fully in charge. "Then Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Matthew 28 : 18

Take communion - its really OK.

Verses 17-19 are about the Messiah, Not The G-B. Verses 20-22 area about the G-B of the WT, Not Bible believing Christians in the Domain of Christ (Christendom).

17 The LORD said to me: "What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. 19 If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account. 20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."

21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. - Deut 18

The perversity of being in the Watchtower is that one is afraid to leave. You are told to abandon your friends and family outside the org and become a J-W so that when you leave them you will have no-one - and when you are in you have so few friends that its lonely, especially for kids. Go to different churches and you will get instant relief. Only one out of 14 different churches here in this county felt cool. All the rest were filled with the most loving and God-loving Christians.

Something Very Big May Be Happening

Since I last posted this link I found information of Nibiru. This is a synopsis.

I have come across information regarding a soon galactic visit from a Gas Giant Planet or Red Dwarf Star (low temperature small star) bigger than Jupiter that orbits our Sun and a nearby dead star (not a binary partner to Sol). One source says it has a 3660 year period another thinks 6500yr. I conjecture that it caused Noah's Flood. Google sky has blacked out the area. It will be that close 2-4years from now 12/2008. NASA has retracted observations made 20+ years ago about the 10th Planet X as well as infrared discoveries made then of a hot object nearby, and has replaced 10th planet with observations of a Kyper Belt Object known as Eris that was intermediary named 2003-UB-313. Eris is less than 1000Km across.

This object is called Nibiru and is larger than Jupiter and much more massive. One photo shows 7 planets sized as large as our inner planets with it.

I found an object in Leo with MS WWT at 9h 47m 59sec/ +13h 16m 27sec. It
shows up in IRIS 12 microns (IR) and a few others and looks very hot. Is
this a mistake? Can anyone confirm what this object is and how far away it
is? It looks like it might just be our Sun and Venus or Mercury.

Discovered: Cosmic Rays from a Mysterious, Nearby Object
Nov. 19, 2008: An international team of researchers has discovered a puzzling surplus of high-energy electrons bombarding Earth from space. The source of these cosmic rays is unknown, but it must be close to the solar system and it could be made of dark matter. Their results are being reported in the Nov. 20th issue of the journal Nature.
"This is a big discovery," says co-author John Wefel of Louisiana State University. "It's the first time we've seen a discrete source of accelerated cosmic rays standing out from the general galactic background."
Galactic cosmic rays are subatomic particles accelerated to almost light speed by distant supernova explosions and other violent events. They swarm through the Milky Way, forming a haze of high energy particles that enter the solar system from all directions. Cosmic rays consist mostly of protons and heavier atomic nuclei with a dash of electrons and photons spicing the mix.
To study the most powerful and interesting cosmic rays, Wefel and colleagues have spent the last eight years flying a series of balloons through the stratosphere over Antarctica. Each time the payload was a NASA-funded cosmic ray detector named ATIC, short for Advanced Thin Ionization Calorimeter. The team expected ATIC to tally the usual mix of particles, mainly protons and ions, but the calorimeter found something extra: an abundance of high-energy electrons.

Why must the source be nearby? Adams explains: "High-energy electrons lose energy rapidly as they fly through the galaxy. They give up energy in two main ways: (1) when they collide with lower-energy photons, a process called inverse Compton scattering, and (2) when they radiate away some of their energy by spiraling through the galaxy's magnetic field." By the time an electron has traveled a whole kiloparsec, it isn't so 'high energy' any more.
High-energy electrons are therefore local.

This object will come close enough to Earth to jolt it both from its gravity and its enormous magnetic field. Earth is expected to shift its inclination, change its length of day and the length of the year. The magnetic poles will flip - I have a NASA DVD on that. When Nibiru emeges from the far side of the Sun to head back out it will eclipse the Sun being between Earth and the Sun according to some and according to others pass just behind the Earth yet close. Its huge tail will sweep the Earth. Nibiru is likely a Brown Dwarf burning Deuterium and its core is 3,000,000 degress Celsius (5-6 Million degress F).

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

Notice that this prophecy is attributed to an earlier prophetic message. I wanted to know who and learned this: Josephus wrote histories about the Jews and Hebrews back to Adam. He records the existence of monuments inscribed with that very prophecy.

Chapter 2 Paragraph 3

Repeatedly the Bible speaks of great earthquakes and an unusually severe one as well as celestial phenomenom on the Day of God's wrath.

Isaiah 29:6; Ezekial 38:19; Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:7; Mark 13:8; Luke 21:11; Revelation 6:12; 8:5; 11:13,19; 16:18.

If you notice how Matthew repeatedly says: "so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet" and the words have are taken at face value. We weren't taught that way but it is more sensible to think that God is not deceitful - he says plainly what he wants you to know and need to know in advance. No "keys" to Bible understanding are truly needed.

Nibiru is a worse case scenario. If someone survived the earthquakes, vast volcanic events, Earth re-orentation, earthquake caused breakup of Nuclear power-plants exposing the cores, nuclear winter effects, breakdown of all services, starvation and exposure, Nibiru is an emmiter of X-rays and Gamma rays as seen on space telescopes which are potentially lethal. Cosmic rays can penetrate deep through rocks and it is probably Nibiru that is causing the multi Hundred Billion eV electrons. All these high energy ionizing radiations will kill animals and plants exposed on the surface. This is no joke, I spent dozens of hours verifying aspects of this and I have lots more info.

X-Rays Found From a Lightweight Brown Dwarf

Using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, scientists have detected X-rays from a low mass brown dwarf (known as TWA 5B) in a multiple star system, which is as young as 12 million years old. This is first time that a brown dwarf this close to its parent star(s) has been resolved in X-rays.

"Our Chandra data show that the X-rays originate from the brown dwarf's coronal plasma which is some 3 million degrees Celsius," said Yohko Tsuboi of Chuo University in Tokyo and lead author of the April 10th issue of Astrophysical Journal Letters paper describing these results. "The brown dwarf is sufficiently far from the primary stars that the reflection of X-rays is unimportant, so the X-rays must come the brown dwarf itself."

TWA 5B is estimated to be only between 15 and 40 times the mass of Jupiter, making it one of the least massive brown dwarfs known. Its mass is rather near the currently accepted boundary (about 12 Jupiter masses) between planets and brown dwarfs.

"This brown dwarf is as bright as the Sun today in X-ray light, while it is fifty times less massive than the Sun,"

said Tsuboi.

Brown dwarfs are often referred to as "failed stars," as they are believed to be under the mass limit (about 80 Jupiter masses) needed to spark the nuclear fusion of hydrogen to helium, which characterizes traditional stars. There is NO TELESCOPE with the resolution to determine a radius 1.8 times that of Jupiter at that distance! Even our closest star to Earth, only 4 ly away, is still a pinpoint to Hubble. Something fishy here.

The Boy's choir did their performance this last Sunday Dec 14, 08. They sang "Go tell it on the Mountain" and "Do you hear what I hear" to a youtube video I audio-only recorded. The 150 or so people there clapped very enthusiastically and were so pleased that some had tears in their eyes. A few sought me out after and told me they really enjoyed it. Can't fake it. Love for Jesus is where you find it.

The youtube video is named " Do You Hear What I Hear - Hayley Westenra ". I don't have the link handy. Her voice is beautiful.

Christmas has too many aspects to be allowed to be called biblically based. BUT Christmas does spread the Gospel. It does draw attention to the part of the Gospel regarding his birth on a yearly basis for a whole month. People can't miss the lights, music, world wide celebrating, even in China where the Christmas goodies are made but the Good news is largely unheard. It serves a purpose that God does put to use for his own purposes.

I don't do the tree and stuff though, but I respect the People who celebrate in His Honor.

Charles TazeRussell said he wanted "to prove the FreeMasonry of the Bible." Why would that be so important to him? I was in the JWs since 1960 and remember that saying being repeated by many old timers and higher ups including a Bethel Elder.

Charles Russell both said that he was a FreeMason and that he was not one. He did not recant before he died. That means HE WAS A LIAR. He contradicted himself at different times, THAT MAKES HIM A LIAR whether he was a Mason or not!

Liars and those who love and carry on a lie are to go to the Lake of Fire as spoken about in Revelation. Whatever the Lake of Fire is, it's not good to be disposed of there.

I noticed the amount of interest this thread generated and prepared my thoughts but never finished them (it was 3am). Nevertheless I am compelled to add. 22 pages of response - wow.

I think that the idea of the trinity is closer to the truth because Jesus is not an Archangel any more than he is the trumpet! He is definitely identified as NOT BEING AN ANGEL. He is repeatedly called god in the Old Testament and the New Testament. And He, Jesus, is worshipped and it is commanded that he be worshipped. The same word for worship of The Father is the word for worship of The Son including when Matthew 28: 17 says " When they saw him, they worshiped him". It is the same word. Therefore one must ask, What is Worship? And what is a "god".

John 1:1 says that the logos was with "ton theon" which Strong's says means "The Supreme Deity". The Father is superior, greater, supremely in charge. That is not questioned. What is asked is whether Jesus denied being God. Isaiah 9 labels him "God". Being God is just what that means. I know that I am not directly answering your reference but others seem to have done well enough.

David wrote that the Son is God. Note my emphasis in Bold. I like The Holman Christian Standard Bible. It is more neutral than the New International Version which has been accused of being influenced by Calvin's ideas of absolute security of salvation.

I used The Kingdom Interlinear for many years at the Kingdom Hall. It has a word by word translation of the Greek and the right column has the New World Translation's reading. Many, many times the NWT changed or altered the words and the meaning of a passage. In some places it is a true deceit. In other places words are changed but why? I can't see why but thay should have been left as they are. The Holman Christian Standard Bible is my study Bible but others read more fluidly like The New Living Translation. Notice how Hebrews 1 reads therein. Especially verse 14 which nails down the Jesus is not an angel thesis.

Dear girl, you are trying hard and that is so good. The nature of God is very difficult to define. The idea of Jesus the God, and the Son of God is easily seen here in Hebrews 1. Forget putting an "a" into John 1:1. He just is.

Young Witness Calls on Me with the Tract - We Both get Educated !

Good job. I got a call from a couple of older sisters a while ago. The spiel was the same old same - same practiced answers. And they said the New World Translation is the most accurate Bible too.

NOT!

It can be so hard to get the door of a JW's mind opened enough to let a little sunshine in there. But the Lord got me out of the WT after 45 years and I go to a Southern Baptist Church now and find the Bible study to be very good with their Lifeway materials. I like the dinners, desert socials, choir, basketball games out back, prayer-breakfasts and nice loving friends I have. And my 10 year old son has good friends, lots of them. He takes guitar lessons from one of the teens here for $20 an hour, cheap I'm told.

No more living in the basement for us.

Perfect conclusion. The contradictions abound in the WT fantasy world. For instance, at the KHall we were always taught that ONLY JWs will survive Armageddon but when at the door in field service one is instructed to say that God reads the heart and decides. Completely dishonest - lies by any other name smell just as offensively.

Raymond Franz's book In Search of Christian Freedom details dozens (seems like hundreds) of cases of gross editorial dishonesty. I remember reading how the FDS (ha!) - even deliberately misquote - rearranging the words to alter the content of the statements to their own ends. Penton in his book Apocalyse Delayed tells story after story of WT lies and intrigue - right out of their own literature.

I go to a Southern Baptist Church and find the people to be absolutely fantastic. No intrusiveness or spying. If I contradict something at Sunday School no one hauls me off with their hands on my neck (saw that once) to disfellowship me. I am respected and loved.

It turns out, most of tradional Christianity's doctrines are closer to the Bible's teachings than not. Jesus is OUR God, Savior, Lord and Father. He has a God, Father, Lord and Savior as well but is still OUR God. Isaiah 9 you know. When the changes in the NWT are analyzed (I used The Kingdom Interlinear in The KHall for years and kept finding changes that seriously altered or obscured the meaning) the Translation Committee altered every passage that could be read against eternal judgement, a spirit component to Mankind (Soul is our etherial component) to quote Plato in The Republic

Umm, notice how the Resurection of the rest of the Dead happens after Satan is imprisoned forever, after the final attack on God's people at the end of the 1,000 years or when it has ended. A perverse rearragement of What is actually written with explanations that have no proof in Holy Writ is the table fare of the Watchtower.

I know that I could go on and on, I am recognized for being a deep student and I get called a "scholar" by some. I take finding joy in research seriously. We all recognize the deep level of nonsense and dark thinking coming from the HQ at Bethel, joining the United Nations and such. WHY trust them for anything? Question everything - I found most of what they taught me is twisted or rearranged or misrepresented.

Read The Book of Enoch at http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/ and remember how Jude quotes Enoch Book 1 vs.9 as being prophetic. Prophecy is the only absolute proof of Divine Inspiration. The book of Enoch was found in The Dead Sea scrolls and is known to have been widely read in the First Century. Also, you night find reading The Recognitions of Clement at ccel.org of great interest since Clement writes that he studied with Barnabas and Peter.
