That was incredible. I were a millionaire (or at least well connected), I would get the producer of these videos a CABLE CHANNEL so everyone could see these clips 24 hours a day. Your work is amazing - please keep going!

I am the Faithful and Discreet Slave
by jwblog inwhen i first attended the congregation of jehovahs witnesses i never even thought about whom or what was the faithful and discreet slave.
i do not believe that this information is ever taught to the public directly.
i think you have to be baptised or start attending the same meetings as those that are baptised.. anyway what made all of you adapt the teaching of the faithful and discreet slave (class or whatever)?

If you "read the bible carefully" you'll also notice that God allowed the Israelites to commit genocide. If you think you know your bible explain that to us...

Public Talk & Bookstudy Changes - the real reason
by bud2114 ini havn't been able to keep up with all the discussion in this forum as to why the gb has suddenly decided to implement these changes and perhaps someone has mentioned this already, but to me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.
it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.
i have been involved in the organzation for 40 yrs and i have never seen the level of apathy and disillusionment among those serving in some capacity in this organization.

I live in Sunrise, Florida and there is a huge KH about 5 minutes away from me. Supposedly 2 Circuit Overlords live their with their wives. About 3-4 congregations meet there and I guess attendance is so-so because the parking lot appears to be full on weekends. But ask me how many times I've seen ANY JWs out in field service in this part of the world???? NOT A SINGLE ONE. There's people out here who haven't even heard of JWs - hard to believe right? The author of this thread is 100% right, the rank and file JWs are losing faith (and interest) in all of this because hardly any are willing to sacrifice their families anymore for failed prophecies. Some JWs are afraid of leaving because they can't imagine making friends outside of the borg. This was a very good thread. I haven't posted in a looooooong time.

3/08 Awake!: Is There One True Religion?
by Watkins ina dear old jw couple who are like an aunt and uncle to me, sent it in the mail.
the note said, in particularly to my husband, which i thought odd since he's never feigned the slightest interest, ""we thought you'd find pages 3-9 of interest, "is there one true religion".
we both feel that the decision we made (a zillion) years ago in choosing a way of worship was the correct one.

It's hard to believe the WTS is still on that old "true religion" topic despite the child abuse settlements. The WTS acts like no one watches the news or has a web connection.

The Spread of Muslims in Europe
by serotonin_wraith inthe spread of muslims in europe.
it seems inevitable that a hundred or two hundred years from now, the majority of people in europe will be muslim.
this is based on the number of children they are having compared to non muslims, and the presumption that they will be told from a very early age they are muslim too, and taught to believe the same things as their parents.

The last time I checked the Holocaust never happened in an Islamic country. The Crusades and the Inquisition were not started by Muslims either. World Wars I & II were started by so-called Christian countries with bishops blessing troops on both sides. So who has killed more people in the last 1000 years? Christians or Muslims?

Is there anyone crazier than a JW?
by Santisimo inyes...they're called zionist jews.

Yes...they're called Zionist Jews. They represent an extreme element in Israeli society that wants war with the Arabs - at any cost. They hope that a war with the Arabs will bring about the Redemption. If anyone thinks that Zionism, the U.S. and 9/11 DO NOT have anything in common please see the series of videos at this site:

It's funny how they decide to do this right at the start of the holiday shopping season - when wallets are fat and ripe with contribution money. Not for nothing, but I suspect that the WT doesn't even care if the public gives a dime for their filthy magazines. They're probably making fat profits just on the JWs who make 'donations' for this.

how is the WT a "literature selling scam"?
by inkling ini have heard several people refer to the society as publishing company in the business.
of selling books and magazines.. i just don't see how this view can be valid considering that i almost never see.
any "voluntary contributions" come in from the door-to-door work.

The WT is making millions WORLDWIDE because unlike the U.S., other countries don't get the magazines for free. I remember many years ago I visited El Salvador and felt heart-broken as I saw dozens of poor people pooling money together to buy WT crap. Meanwhile, back home in the U.S. I had dozens of magazines lying around under furniture, behind the fridge. It really made me think "why are we charging money in poor countries"?
