  hey all, i've been reading this sight for a year now and have never posted.the last topic sparked my "need" to do so.i got a girl pregnant 13 yrs.

  ago that i really didn't know that well.

  she turned out to be a "non-practicing j.w", according to her, until she became pregnant and realized that i was not going to marry her....i knew her for about a week.

  Well first of all, THANK the gods you've got custody. That helps considerably.
  
  It doesn't sound like he's in any danger of converting (much to their chagrin, I'm sure) but the guilt trip sucks regardless. Sounds like he knows that his mom is a bit of a nut case and it sucks the joy and breath out of him to be there.
  
  You ARE doing the right thing. One suggestion might be to let him read these boards! Tell him what it's all about... tell him you have a place where there is an answer to ANYTHING and everything the JW's try to tell him. Let him discover and come to the understanding himself that ignoring JW's does not in ANY way mean ignoring GOD, in fact, just the opposite, as MY GOD does not approve of their hateful practices!!!
  
  He is not baptised, thank heavens, so they can't do a damned thing about him being here, even if he DOES let on.

  JW's and Girlscout cookies

  my jw roommate and i were watching boston legal the other night and one case was about someone being fired for their religious beliefs.

  when one of the lawyers was talking to the jury, he mentioned many religions and the odd, quirky things about them.

  he did mention that if you were a jehovah's witness you couldn't buy girl scout cookies.

  Exactly what I was about to say, JWdaughter... we were certainly not allowed to join them. I always got a bit twisted and jealous when all the gals got to leave class to go to their cool secret "Scout" things. Mom would never have DREAMED of buying scout cookies. Man, the first one I bought and tasted... good gods, yes they are damn fine cookies!!! hahahaaha!!!

  hello everyone.. i'm an "active" jw and have been for...13 years but my faith in the jw org died about 5 years ago.. so, i've been doing the jw thing for 5 years now without believing in it.

  i might be an ms soon, unfortunately.. i tried telling my parents about it but they said apostates are good with twisting words and whatnot.. they wouldn't even let me show them evidence of wt hypocrisy; however, my mother did say she found it odd that every once in a while, there's that publisher resolution of donating a certain amount a year.

  there might be hope for her yet.

  WooHOOoooo, one more year to AA degree, aye? CONGRATULATIONS!!! AA is the way to GO... that way you can transfer as a Junior to any University with your general distribution requirements IN the BAG. AWESOME! You are certainly doing the right things so far, man, keep it up.

  Can Someone Explain Horror Movies?

  i try to be open minded and not judge anything but when i see these movie commercials----.

  i think it was saw iii or something, all this blood, gore, shrieking and grotesque violence, all i can do is ask with a sense of awe --why?

  why would someone want to watch that?.

  I LOVE horror movies, but I would not see "Saw"!
  
  I don't know, I think I like the supernatural or psychological thrillers.
  
  Gore, when it is not a really badly-made B movie I can laugh through, really does nothing for me. Then again, Zombie gore is COOooool!!!
  
  Crap. I don't know how to describe the difference. Do you like ANY kind of horror movie?
