Great Info!!!!
This just proves that the end is getting extremly close.
Old Light followed by New Light in the same magazine means that things are moving along quickly.
The work has really speeded up.

Breaking News Researchers say 'Hobbit' was separate Species. Creationist!!!
by skyking inhttp://www.breitbart.com/news/2007/01/29/070129220701.161f20yf.html.
scientific evidence supports the theory that a 18,000-year old "hobbit" skeleton unearthed in indonesia was a new species closely related to homo sapiens.

Well it is food for thought!!! A Homo Floresiensis with sophisticated tools. Did you ever see what those tools may look like??
When they find my skeleton in a cave draped over this computer in 10,000 years they may wonder what that sophisticated tool is that I made. Probably call me Homo HPsiensis.

GUMBERS NEEDS YOUR ADVISE.......
by Mary ini got a pm from gumby this morning.
as i predicted, he's being love-bombed by the congregation and invited out everywhere.
part of this is because he was very popular before and is a very likeable guy, but part of it is to try and suck him back in so thoroughly, he'll never be able to escape.

Hi!!!
I have heard that when someone gives up the smoking habit that just the least smell of tabacco smoke, even on someones clothing can trigger the urge for a smoke. Just being around people with strong perfume can cause serious reactions in some people..
Gumbers wouldn't want to take the chance of a lapse into sin. Sometimes sensitivities prevent people from even going to meetings. Some people have to stay at home and listen to meetings on the phone to avoid contact with offensive odors encountered at meetings.
The options are limitless.
Go Gumby. But remember that if you don't return I have dibs on your avatar.

Great!!!
JW's may be Sun worshipers.
Quote from JW resolution, year (1963)...."THAT we will continue to look to Him as the great Sun from whom comes our enlightenment, guidance and healing.......
Adopted at every convention that summer. I also concured but did not at that time consider paragraph 8.
Jah, Ra is the ancient sun God.
He warms my back as I type this.

Hello zack;
Maybe you need to make a certain point clear!!! There is a huge difference between Sport Hunting and Hunting for food.
I hunt for food! I don't like killing, but every one that ever eats a burger at McDonalds or Burger King etc. or enjoys a turkey dinner or a pastrami sandwich or a BLT or wears leather shoes or a leather wallet or purse (you get the point) needs to see the animal die even just one time to really appreciate the life given for your comfort or pleasure.
Many times I have forgone shooting an animal just because at the time it just did not feel right. I think that is a good thing.
I think that people that hire there killing done need to get a clue. The next time that you take a bite of that burger or steak think about the animal that died for your enjoyment. Think about that cow skin that is protecting your feet.
If you can honestly say that you use no animal products at all you are a rare person indeed, and have earned the right to criticize those of us that do if you want. Even those plastic flip flops that you wear on the beach may result in an animals untimely death.

PS; Since I am a hunter my itellectual capacity may be impaired!! I hope that you can understand the point of my post. -

Further incite on Dawkin's The God Delusion
by Abandoned ini started a thread after i finished the first chapter of this book entitled something like, i'm an atheist.
i finished chapter three and i have to backtrack a bit, but i also feel the need to explain why since i was so vocal.. first, let me say that i think everyon should read the first two chapters of the god delusion by richard dawkins.
he brings up some very important points about religion and about science's place in our world.

"No way in hell can you convince me that I am dogmatic." New quote of the year!!!
Sorting false from true is my new favorite occupation. As long as the debate continues "The jury is still out."
Don't you agree Abaddon???

Death of a generation
by onacruse interry's thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/7/127651/1.ashx got me to thinking about this.. one of the characteristics of the wts is to "weather the storm" of a major disappointment, and, as evidenced by the last two major cycles, count on the death (as much in a literal sense as a figurative one) of the generation of jws that went through that debacle...and thence to recommence with the eschatological emphasis as if nothing had happened.. the post-1925 period is perhaps even more exemplative of this than the post-1914 period, because a good many bible students, grasping at every straw to salvage their belief system, swallowed the chronological recalculations and jubilee-cycle antitype interpretations, which extended 1914 to 1925. but 1925 was the last straw for most of them.
it initiated a major revolt among the rank-and-file (and especially the elders...the leaders of "that generation") which haunted the wts for the next 20 years, and a chronological review of the watchtower articles and books during the entire rutherford period shows a preoccupation with vilifying those who dared to remind of that debacle.. with the 50s came a major expansion in the wts, and a consequent dilution of that disillusioned group.
those that were still alive, and who were still jws, had by that time invested so much of their lives into that way of life that...well, how could they find the muster to dump off 40 years of life energy and say, finally, "well, i was wrong, wasn't i?

Hello onacruse!!!
You make me feel really old. I graduated from high school in the late 1960's and spent the next thirty years living the (life) lie of a good JW. Pioneering, recruiting, studying, meetings, assemblies,quick-builds, MS, BS conductor, public talks, Etc.
The next thirty years are my best hope now.
Are you sure about less than ten percent of those that went through the 1975 lie are still in JWdom??? That amount can't be right, can it????
I know many that gave up much to be prepared for the end at 1975. One young witless even gave up his Playboy mag collection, hoping that would help save him. That collection would be worth big bucks today. Maybe his retirement account.
Oh well!!! I am actually enjoying sorting the false from true now. A very big job indeed!!!!
