2014 Pew Research on US Religion
by adjusted knowledge inthe pew survey i've been reading is quite lengthy, but filled with interesting information.
it really explains a lot of the social issues.
impact of little education, donation issues, the issues of women finding marriage partners.

They are a very significant religion, as proof I reference the seven angelic trumpet blasts at Cedar Point, Ohio that rocked the world:) -

What could you have been if you were never a JW?
by minimus inoh, the possibilities!
there is a lot of wasted talent.

This is a tough question because it orients the answers to the uncertain and negative. I would have loved to play professional football but not matter what my physical skills made that extremely unlikely. We are who we are. And the key is deciding what we want to be and not what we could have been. All of us no matter how old or what the WTBS did can decide what we want to be and pursue that.

Is their any evidence/proof that the G.B.enjoy first class flights accomodation in their travels ?
by smiddy ini`m just curious about the travel arrangements of the g.b.members when they travel overseas to conventions in europe , africa , australia , etc.. is their any verifiable documents /receipts etc.
that prove they stay in the most up market hotels , or fly first class in planes ?, being treated like v.i.p.`s ?.
no human being is exempt from the temptations of abusing his power or position of authourity , especially when big money is involved , and the g.b.

We brought GB members to dedicate the KH and also to conventions/other. We would always try to arrange business class seats or similar. These folks are old and traveling across the country is tough. It is not a real religion and the JWs do not do any good for society. It is a business and when the business is run by old folks one may as well make sure they get to the location somewhat rested and comfortable.

How big a fee does the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society get for booking Jehovah's Witnesses into Convention Hotels?
by Balaamsass incurious.
i know travel agents and on-line sites get a kickback or fee for booking hotels.

It has been years since I worked in rooming. In the 1990s most negotiations with the hotels were based on price and also the comp rooms/room nights booked. If memory serves, properties would comp one room for every thirty to fifty room nights. The comped rooms were then "sold" by rooming at the rate (contribution to WWW) or were used for house Bethel and other "dignataries" coming to the convention

"Local Needs" Talks: The people who should really hear them are never there.
by Open mind inmy whole life as a jw i've heard this refrain.
"too bad so-and-so wasn't here for that local needs talk.".
as an elder i would have a hard time putting my heart into writing up a local needs talk that was targeting one or two congregation members, knowing full well they probably wouldn't be there to hear it.. .

Willy - good point...
An organization that was truly motivated by love and the desire to engaged in "a life-saving work" would be on top of this.
There is really nothing about the JW communication style, actions and policies that conducts a "life-saving work. There are a few Witnesses who actually do good things for others, but the organization as a whole - not a chance.

Any of you folks from the awesome state of Colorado??
by SweetBabyCheezits inmy wife and i are thinking of moving our family to a better place in the us....away from jw family and out of the southern bible belt.
just curious how many of you live around co and, more specifically, near fort collins?
of course, we're open to any city that is less conservative and has awesome summer weather and outdoor activities.

SBC - Colorado is an excellent place to live. The weather is much better than folks realize. Lots of sunny days. The mountain towns are fun, the front range towns are maybe more appropriate for a family. My favorite city is Durango in the southwest corner of CO. Ft Lewis College is there, a great "foodie" town and the "normal" beautiful outdoors.
PM me as I have a contact or two that may give you the lay of the land with regard to a photography business.

Maybe the error of the WTS and similar is the audacity to convince others of anything.
