Glad to see the Press Releases
by JWinSF injust got back from a short nyc vacation [nope, didn't go to the headquarters --- didn't want to have to go by ground zero and get depressed only to be further depressed by the site of the wtbts].. anyhow, how wonderful to see press getting on the band wagon [and major, heavy hitters like the san francisco chronicle/examiner] about the jws dirty secret regarding child molesters.
they actually make the catholic church look clean.. out of curiosity, i had to see the dubz official site.
natch, they had prominently displayed a series of articles against child molestation.

by musky ini was at the bible students website recently, and i noticed they have the "studies in the scriptures" volumes there.
i am an inactive witness.
in my research i found that russell taught that secret measurements in the pyramids revealed gods plans for us.

Cardinal Law or J.R. Brown?

if the god they say they worship does exist, he must be very disgusted with what he sees.
i think both bernard cardinal law of boston and the watchtower society, chiefly through their "pr man" j.r. brown, are not really owning up to their responsibilities.

JW"s are learning, Violet. They are breaking down the barriers that have been erected,starting with J.F.Rutherford and continuing today,between themselves and their communitites, and they are reaching out to the 'lost sheep' and giving comfort and 'sustenance'.
Since this board was opened, (and even before)JW's and non-JW's and ex-JW's have been working together for positive change. At many of the 'aposafests' I've been to, there are sometimes 1/4 Witnesses and 1/4 non-Witnesses.
JW's are voting with the only power they have--their wallets. Kingdom Halls are being sold, circuits are being dissolved, building projects are all but disappearing; literature orders are shrinking; this is becasue JW's WANT change and are willing to work for it.
No, not to your face they aren't.
But when we all here on the board are not looking, they are missing meetings to go out to dinner; they are coming off the pioneer list to work extra hours for a nice house and a car; they are going to R rated movies becasue they don't WANT to be treated like little babies. They are making more independant decisions regarding health care. They are not conducting bible studies, and many JW's are not making their children go to meetings, like they used to.
They are doing all these things quietly; with none of the fanfare that ex-JW's can't seem to do anything without--it's just a difference in style.
Bless you JW's--you are waking up and taking the reins in your own hands. The children you save will be your own.

If you've ever noticed, all the people suffering from 'excessive religiosity' also have a little problem with empathy and fellow feeling. They are all like the Pharisees that saw the injured man laying by the road and did not help him. As a class, they seem totally unable to be like the Samaritan.
How many JW's actually come to this board and cry when they hear out stories? Do they not instead call us names, put us down, and offer us absolutely nothing.
Instead of reaching out to the lost sheep like us, they beat us over the head. Amac, Airmail special, You Know, Fred Hall, Psyc, Hilda,and the list goes on and on have NO EMPATHY for what we all have been through. We get the "I gots da troof" routine, in a near-gloating tone.
And believe me, the public is catching on. When they see emails like the one above, and they hear the bad things that have happened to us---unlike the Watchtower, the public beleives the victims.
Just like the person sending that email. They just want to pull the wings off the butterflies, why else would they be here.
For all the good it will do you. WE are not the enemy. Watchtower is. Your Mother is sick, you had better get HER some medicine. Maybe even major surgery. Maybe even euthanasia.

California, USA Circuit Being Dissolved
by AMNESIAN inaccording to the cos service talk this week to a local congregation, a southern california circuit is being disbanded, its congregations dispersed to other circuits.
as i was not there and did not hear his comments first-hand, i have no further information.
i doubt, however, that being there wouldve yielded much more in the way of info as i am told that, naturally, he gave no reason(s) and simply reported that this circuit would be acquiring two additional congregations while a currently-assigned one would be moving to another circuit.. while shuffling congregations among circuits is not an extraordinary occurrence here, dissolving one altogether that draws from its many urban communities is.

Circuit Assembly Notes

Bill Bowen's Use of "Fake Precision"
by Psychdigg inthe fake precision fallacy involves making a claim with a mathematical precision that is impossible to obtain.. he does this on his site where he starts with an alleged and unsupported figure that the watchtower has a file of some 23,000 child molesters and runs that figure up to the point where it becomes absolutely absurd.
his purpose is to persuade readers that jehovah's witnesses are a hot bed of child molestation.
the problem is that he starts with at best very dubious sources and then he takes this data and treats it as if it is precise and factual.. it is not unusual for many of us to use a frivolous "false precision" in making statements.

That was good, LDH I totally missed that.
Those articles need to be removed. They need to be replaced with information more pertinent to
the needs of children,
to the dangers of pedophiles,
to the total unfitness of JW elders to conduct investigations and to 'spiritually treat these offenders and the victims
to the issue of reporting procedures
to the specific damage that has been done to the reputation of JW.
I don't know why JW apologists are even on this board. You say what you have to say ONCE, it won't get heard anyway after the first five times.
If you beleived we were her to 'take down the Watchtower' that we have our own agenda, and on and on and on;
WHAT IS THE POINT OF THEIR DIALOGUE WITH US? It's the public you need to worry about, and I suggest you get off your lazy a*s and get out there trooping door to door and try and undo the damage that Watchtower has done in your community.

Your scenario doesn't come close to much of what is really going on not just in the Borg but in many institutions.
How often really is there a case of one person comeing forward and says "he touched me?" Isn't it more often that several someones comes forward and says "he raped me"?
This goes back to what I said about and what Bill has been saying; in the case of an allegation of sexual impropriety; ALL cases must go before the secular authorities.
Do you really believe, Bluesbrothers, that a Watchtoer elder is QUALIFIED to be conducting these interrogations, reaching these conclusions, and carrying them out on a congregation of innocent religious congrgational adherents.
Have you completely missed the point? You made it after all:

I don't see what the desire to want Watchter to 'come down' has to do with anyone's work with Abused and MURDERED children.
The only one drawing attention and making any connection between the two is Watchtower apologists.
I don't know who's side you are on, you pr-Watchtoerites, but I think we need to hire you becasue you bring out all our points FOR us!!!!
