  Figures for Df-ings, Da-ings, and WA's

  hi.

  just wondering if anyone has current figures on the number of disfellowshipings, disassociations, and walk-aways that are occuring from jw's.

  i've heard a lot of older figures, but i was wondering if there was a source for more recent data.. thanks for any help here.... taoinit

  Somewhere on Randy's site is a place where the figures from last years's 'official' tally.

  df'ing I have heard is about, worldwide, 40,000 per year, with around 20,000 per years reinstatments---. Estimates are about 1% JW's die per year. (Unofficial)

  At any given time, about 1/4 to 1/3 of an average U.S. congregation is irregular/inactive.

  In at least two countries, it appears Watchtower counts irregular/inactives and even sometimes df'd/da'd that are meeting attenders as members.

  In the past, publisher cards were to be destroyed if the publisher was AWOL for five years or more. According to a recent 'BOE' letter published on this board, these cards are now to be kept indefinitely. To all appearances Watchtower plans on expanding their counting irregulars/inactives/df'd and da's as members.

  But my favorite part of all is the fact that in spite of propaganda that the 'anointed' are decreasing, they are either staying the same or increasing, partakers anyway---in spite of the fact that, if the percentages hold, they must be losing 50-80 PER YEAR in death, and we know for a fact that partakers are df'd or da'd all the time.

  this is a commentary to a reply from you know, regarding the meaning of the last supper.

  by using covenant in both verses, the nwt is thereby giving the impression that the covenant of the blood (v20) is the same thing as the appointment of the kingdom to the disciples (v29).. the greek word for covenant in v20 is diatheke.

  Peer Pressure - the WTS Greatest Weapon

  in my early years of questioning wts theology and methodology in the late 70s', i was entirely on my own.

  i knew that something was seriously wrong with their doctrines, but there was no internet, no discussion groups, and in my particular area of the uk, no listening ear.

  in fact everybody seemed so pleasantly in love with the truth and so drawn along by collective enthusiasm that i seriously began to question my own attitudes.. sometimes i would wonder if i had gone quite mad, lost god's spirit, or had accomplished some dark deed in my past, that unknown to me was stripping me of my faith.

  Peer pressure is not their greatest weapon.

  If that were true, there would not be zero/negative growth in over 70 countries. Also, if peer pressure were their greatest weapon, the number of partakers would not have remained steady/risen over the years.

  No, their greatest weapon was the white-washing of their history and the capping of scandals and keeping the negative publicity out of sight.

  NEW LIGHT! Earthquakes-3-22-02 Awake!

  well we now have another ray of new light that has flashed forth.

  it is a new teaching regarding earthquakes.

  for close to eighty-five years now the core believe of jehovahs witnesses has been the last days teaching that earthquakes have increased in intensity and frequency since 1914. no longer, now it seems it has gone the way of the generation that would not die who were alive in 1914. now we have the great new discovery that there were not more or stronger earthquakes since 1914, almost 40 years after experts and many good men were disfellowshipped for saying otherwise.

  fore the first time i seen that jw admit one very important thing about why they are forced to pay taxes, and why some countrys dont want to give them a position as a religion inn good standard, if you understand what i mean.. on side 15 you can read that new issus are on the tabel, as bloodissu, who to rase your children and the dfd issu.. very intresting to see this, as i say the first time gov body say this, before they have only say it is evel talk and apostats lie.

  And while we're on the subject, let's talk about some of bald-faced lies that are in this book....

  Jehovah's Witnesses rarely if ever go to prison for refusing military service. Look at it from the point of view of the goverments and of the soldiers in the trenches; they don't want someone in that foxhole who won't fire a weapon either!!!!

  They get these repercussions because they PUNISH THEIR MEMBERS WHO DO ALTERNATIVE SERVICE. They will expell and shun anyone who does alternative service. This totally violates Jesus' command of paying back Ceaser's to Ceasear's, and of going two miles when you were asked to go one.

  Being a religion that does not believe in blood transfusions or alteernative service and who believes in mistreats rape and molestation survivors is one thing. But to have a 40-50 year policy of EXPELLING AND SHUNNING members for these things is different.

  You say 'this is the first time I've seen it in print', unhappyman. In other words, the Watchtower has been lying about it for years and can't lie about it anymore because this information can't be hidden. They can't lie about a lot of things anymore.

  And that doesn't even begin to cover how much persecution that the Watchtower has BROUGHT UPON ITS OWN MEMBERS. Such as in Greece, Bulgaria, Russia, World War 2 Germany, and even here in the United States. They can't lie about that anymore either.

  The Watchtower depended on two things for the last 100 years in order to get new converts (and new money)

  1) lying about their past. Not an option anymore. Too many books at the public library --too much internet -- and now, too much newspapers, radio and tv. God bless the free press!!!

  2) the emotionally, mentally, psychologically, socially disenfranchised individuals. Not a lot we can do about thtese ones. Go all the way back and read tattoogirl's first few posts. Go all the way back and read 'troubled' first few posts. Undereducated, underemployed, psychologically disturbed individuals appear to be making up the bulk of the new converts.

  Now there was a time when this organization could pick someone up, dust them off, and make something of them. Not anymore. This organization is too sick to be helping anybody else. They are beating, raping, and murdering one another at a rate probably unprecedented in their 120+ year history----they can help no one. Plus, they ask too high a price in return--in many cases, your life.
