[note: this essay, broken into sections for easier reading, was written as the first part of a three-part essay cycle written for a biography/autobiography writing class that i took so i could get my bachelors in english (with an emphasis in creative writing), thus it was meant for non-jehovahs witnesses.

the three parts were written during the fall 97 semester.

i purposely focused on three major events: 1. the catalyst for my spiritual journey away from the jw.

okay, folks clue me in here:.

i would like to talk/write about something serious in a future post, something other than my jokesy posts.

it's something i've talked in-depth with only three people: my former literature professor, my dorm counsellor back in job corps when i was 19, and my current romantic partner.
