  Perry, there are all kinds of people in the truth and all kinds of people in Bethel. Some are there for the noblest of reasons and some are just there for the recognition, the support and the fact that they do not have to face the responsibilities of the grown up world. BQE's story may sound strange, but I've seen and known of stranger things. By the way, of course abortionist are not hard to find, but rather than just go to someone in the yellow pages, if I were BQE's friend, I would certainly ask her if she knew anyone I might go to.

  Have you eaten food containing blood?

  just wanted to find out how the x-jw community views eating food containing blood.

  have any of you eaten foods like black pudding since leaving the jw's?

  are you still apprehensive about eating products with blood?

  I don't know if its JW indoctrination or not, but just the thought of eating food containing blood makes me feel a bit woozy! However, if I ate food that contained blood and I was not aware of it until afterwards I wouldn't feel guilty or depressed or anything like that.

  some interesting comments about the confusion caused by using multiple identities in the last day or two.. i was wondering, as there are some strange sounding tags about, what is the story, if any, behind your screen names?

  and what are your favourite alternatives (i thought about being dungeonmaster).

  i am 'dmouse' because it's a shortened version of my full name, dean moorhouse, and i used to love the (uk)cartoon dangermouse when i was a kid.

If I may though, I would just like to say that it is not my intent to exploit the situation concerning the death of your dear friend, however it does seem as though the organization's views on shunning and disfellowshipping did have a negative effect on this entire family. I wish you peace.

  yoyomama's bad day...

  i am the poster formerly known as yoyomama...i had to use my name since simon keeps deleting any registration with "yoyo" in it.. i mentioned earlier that i've had a horrible day, this is why:.

  my wife had a miscarriage over night.

  we've been trying to conceive for over a year and we finally made it, but it has ended in a very disappointing way.... i did not think it would affect me as it did, but it did.. thanks billygoat for your interest.. peace to all, i promise no more outbursts (not even if i'm provoked).

  Dear Yoyo: I don't mean to sound judgmental, but if your wife did indeed suffer a miscarriage just last night, I think you are doing her a disservice by not being constantly at her side and instead to be posting all over this board. It is my humble suggestion that you hurry to your wife's side and give her the love and support that she is probably desperately in need of at this time. Let us know how she is.

  why won't my friends help me?.

  i had one letter about 9 months ago while i was still going to the meetings warning me about apostate tendancies.. then a phone call from another friend just after christmas telling me he couldn't see be any more.. this has been the extent of my former friends encouragement to get me to see the errror of my ways and come back to the fold.. none of these people see me any more.. none of these people have made any effort what so ever to get me back!.

  i'm thinking of phoning some up and asking them "why?".

  Sleepy, saying that any response to your side of the story would now be counterproductive is hitting the nail right on the head. You must realize that if you have been disfellowshipped for whatever reason, you have no side to the story. Whatever explanation you have does not count. Only the congregation and their organization count, so trying to present your side of the story to those still a part of the congregation will be casting pearls to swine. Like you indicated, it will probably also get you reported to the elders as spreading apostacy.

  Another Family With JW Ties Murdered in Oregon

  i just saw this in the news this morning.

  a father killed his family and them himself.

  this happened in mcminnvile, oregon just outside of portland, oregon.

  My heart goes out to this family. First the husband had to declare bankruptcy and lost his business, then he was apparently disfellowshipped which resulted in him being shunned by the congregation and his family and finally the new start that he hoped for didn't work out either and in a moment of extreme frustration he takes the life of himself and his family. Heartbreaking. I wonder though was caused him to be disfellowshipped. Just curious.
