I don't know of any "work-from-home" things on the net that AREN'T ripoffs, but I run a home based business based on years I spent in my field. Before you were disabled, what sort of work did you do? Maybe you could find a blogging job for a blog about that field of interest, or moderate an about.com area.
In other words, if you were a plumber, you could blog about the plumbing field and run plumbing.about.com. (not sure if this exists) Both would be paid positions, and both would be home-based.
Just my two cents.
Give me a starting point and I'll do some searching fer ya!

Progress with my wife
by under_believer inwell, progress continues.
i no longer directly attack my wife's beliefs... i leave her with questions to ponder and give her research assignments.
if there's one thing the witnesses taught me, it's how to talk to people in a nonthreatening way about their beliefs.

awesome, I just added the two-witness rule to things to talk about with my wife.

The Abuse Never Seems to Stop !!!
by Amazing inthere is yet another case of child abuse.
this time it is in new york, where a jw man was convicted of multiple felony counts of attempted molestation young boys.
yes, the watchtower society of jehovah's witnesses does have a serious problem that is not going away.

When witnesses ask me what I think, I don't give em the usual "How terrible for Jehovah's name" response.
I just say "Good!, witness or non-witness that perv deserves what's coming to him"
They usually follow with something about how bad a witness it is.
JWs are obsessed with how we look to the world, yet we're supposed to be no part of it. -

Wealthy vs Poor Cong. Which ones were more real?
by hambeak ini am curious about this because as i was growing up i attended a very poor cong.
benches for seats and light bulbs hanging from wires from the ceiling and mostly black folks.
some of the best people i ever knew never stingy alway kind.

I went to a materialistic cong where people were having diamond ring size / fur-coat price competitions with each other.
However, Wealthy congos are probably good for faders. Many times there people would ask me "Where've you been" when I never missed a meeting. They were too self-involved and the cong was too big to notice you.

What would you say is the main reason why people didn't listen to us?
by JH inwhen i started going out door to door, i was sure i'd bring a couple of people with me to the org.
i knew my parents believed in god and the bible, so i was sure i'd be able to convince them with a few simple verses that we had the truth.
but no, they didn't seem convinced enough to want to study.

Many don't listen because they haven't been "broken" by something bad happening in their life.
You've got to break someone's spirit (or trick them) to get them to sign their life over. -

RADICAL ELDERS WHO BROKE THE RULES - we salute you
by dannygwalsh inthought id inject a bit of light hearted humor , any stories of elders who were unorthodox in a witness way , .
there was one elder in the hall i used to attend called ronnie [edit] , who i still like and admire as a person to this day , he was always very outspoken when he didnt agree with the society on there policy and doctrines and was pra, ctically opposed to bethel service , i remember him giving a talk on applying for bethel service in the km many years ago , and at the end of the talk he said joking with a wry smile , i dont know why any of the brothers would want to do that , sounds like slave labour to me, also whe he was conducting the revelation book study , when it talked about the seven plagues of god being fulfilled in a wt convention in ohio in 1919 , he turned round and said , i dont know where the society get all this from , ... .
he also had a very distinctive voice spoken thru pursed lips in a rasp like voice saying thats just stupid , whenever he didnt agree with the society and other elders , a great man in spite of his beliefs , he was one of the elders on my jc who srongly opposed my disfellowshipping , but he was overuled- .

I'm glad we're gonna study Rev book again, it's very confusing, but is great for causing convo.
Also, TONS of speculation from the WTS, so it can get people thinking
You'd think they'd just sweep it under the rug, right?

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!
by Butters ini cannot believe what i saw happen today at the store.. i was at wal-mart browsing various electronics and digital cameras and such, when i heard behind me, "brother hardy, how are you!"...
first thing i thought was oh shit, they found me, and forgot my real name, or have me mixed up with someone else.. turns out, this disfellowshiped witness was there at the store and saw one of his congregation members there.
now i personally have never been part of the shunning process myself, but here i am, an ex-jw watching from the other aisle, a bunch of shit that i never thought i would see the lights of day on.... the brother, this "hardy" i guess, looked up at the man with a smile, but then when he realized who it was, he immediately frowned and started pushing his shopping cart away looking straight ahead and not even acknowledging the man... (here's where i jump in..).

Butters, according to God's word at Ecclisiasticus 4:1,978 "Caffeine is good for the soul, but smoke weed and demons will rape you to death"
JK, good job on helping the guy out. -
