I don't remember how exactly I got here, but I had decided to research the history of the dubs to be better informed about my (former) religion, and I took in all the info from apostate sites. hehe.

foreign language congregations
by SB ini was thinking this morning, that the biggest step towards me being mentally free from wt doctrine, was joining a foreign language congregation.
i did well w/the language, and even traveled to the country for about a year to pioneer.
but while out of the u.s., i did very little personal study, prayer, or reading of the wt.

What if you've been in a foreign language cong. all your life? Something I've noticed about english cong. is less attendance and less lively.

I Couldn't Resist
by Poztate ini tried and tried and tried...but i could not resist.
i highlighted my wife's january 1 wt.. the comment highlighted..."could it then be reasoned that since jesus was enthroned in the fall of 1914,the resurection of his faithful annointed followers began three and a half years later, in the spring of 1918?.
that is an interesting possibility...although this can not be directly confirmed in the bible.... for 50 years this was fact and biblical...now they blow it off with one sentence....jw..lurkers take note..... they did this with the generation change in 1995 and the dubs are too stupid to notice the changes.. i am sure my wife will try to ignore the whole thing and not respond to it..

Dr.Jeckyl and Mr.Hyde.
by scout575 in"when elisha arrived, he went alone into the room and saw the boy lying dead on the bed.
he closed the door and prayed to the lord.
then he lay down on the boy, placing his mouth, eyes, and hands on the boy's mouth, eyes, and hands.

In search for truth...thinking freely or free thinking?
by NYCkid inin a reading for one of my college classes, i came across a passage which i immediately thought i'd share with my friends on this board:.
"truth gains more even by the errors of one who, with due study and preparation, thinks for himself, than by the true opinions of those who only hold them because they do not suffer themselves to think...there have been, and may again be, great individual thinkers, in a general atmosphere of mental slavery.
but there never has been, nor ever will be, in that atmosphere, an intellectually active people.".

Sometimes living in a small town has it's perks ......
by troubled mind ini complain sometimes that it is annoying living in this small town of 6,000 because i am always running into (not over) my former witness "friends".
but there are perks too : yesterday my microwave stopped working , so i called the local downtown maytag dealer .
he promises to make a house call later in the afternoon to check it over .

seymour: yeah, that's nice that it has blu-ray, but the ps3 could've also been sold as a ps3/fridge hybrid, but why do people buy new systems? in my case, it's to play games. and yeah, sony gave the ps2 the ability to play dvds, but the difference is that DVDs had been around for a while while blu-ray is something new and it's not even known at this point if it's going to be the next standard.
