Does anybody feel like if not for the Internet we could have still been in
by ladione5000 inthe dark?
walking around knocking on peoples doors and telling them they are going to die if they do not follow our beliefs?.
i for one feel like this is the new world, and there is just no stopping this super highway we call the internet... it is like a whole new world, we can now talk and meet people around the world.

What is Channel C? I never really looked at the internet before leaving. But after leaving and searching for years for "my people" (where my homies at?) I finally realized after this site and Ray Franz books that I'm an "apostate" (free-thinker). For some witlesses, I'm sure Satan seems like a genius if they think all this anti-witness stuff is his doing. I remember being paranoid as an elder's kid because the bad dude was wandering around seeking to devour me or something.

JW restrictions on sex, lead to over hype that made sex disappointing.
by free2beme ini remember being a teenager and my hormones were on overdrive.
the young witnesses i knew, male and female, were all feeling the same thing.
we would bring up sex, in one form or another, all the time.

Sex. My obsession. When I was a kid it was all they ever talked about! It was all I ever thought about. I was like 10! It's so ridiculous. I also agree you can have way awesome sex with someone you met 6 hours earlier, and likewise, you can love someone in a relationship and have to go to sleep pissed off because something just wasn't right. But I think physical and emotional skills combined makes for the type of marriage/ life time partnership we are all super lucky to find, and should make every effort to keep. I was really disappointed when I got out of the cult and found out that not everyone was waiting to have sex with me. I mean, it's not too hard to get laid if you're a girl, but worldly people had more interests than fornication! I eventually toned it down a little, but getting married - I had to find someone who likes to do it as often as me. I got DF's in HS for F, but seeing all the older girls getting married, it was horrible. They all put on 30 pounds and the couple showed up glassy eyed and miserable. They were like, "These church f-ers tricked us! Marriage to some dipsh-t that I barely got to know and who doesn't know themselves is the worst idea ever." There are lucky ones, but I never saw them in the KH.

Yeah, I've been out 9 years and when I have a stressful conversation with my mom about how lame our relationship is, and my mind is trying to work it out, I'll dream I'm a witness again. I am usually somewhere with a bunch of them I used to know and hardly ever think about anymore. I always just wish I wasn't there and when I wake up, I am so grateful I got out and have my life.

Ask a Question you didn't dare ask an elder because of fear of being DF'd?
by JH inonce a person is baptized, you can't ask the questions you may have asked prior to your baptism.. but probably after your baptism, there were things you'd have like to tell or ask the elders, but this could have meant that you had doubts.. what would you have said to an elder or asked him if it wasn't for the fear of getting reproved or df'd?.

I get almost a whole month off between quarters! I forget how much I appreciate my freedom until something comes along to occupy it. My husband and I are going to drive east for x-mas. We'll be in P-town (503) for turkey day.

I'm scared and I need help
by Chameleon infor those of you that don't know my story, read my first post here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/122526/1.ashx
so, i think next week is when i find out if i am approved to be an ms. if not, thank god, but if i am, i'm in deep crap.
elder dad is confident that i'll accept, but my plan is to try to get out of it by saying that i want to finish school and get an aa degree, at least, before accepting more responsibilities.

I won't be the most relevant post here, but in my experience, if you want to be able to talk to your parents when you are older, leave the UN out of it. Use school excuse. There is great temptation to being honest, but witnesses don't play by human rules. They will think Satan has already got you and now is trying to get them through you. Just let them know that you want to give it your full attention and proper priority in your life, but you need to make sure you are in a good job so that you can have less distractions from preparing inspiring #2s. It's been a while since I was around Witness brains, so I don't even know how I sound to them anymore. Good luck. I'm sure better advice is on the way!

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
by scout575 in"but the lord said unto samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because i have refused him: for the lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the lord looketh on the heart.

"thus saith the lord of hosts, i remember that which amalek did to israel, how he laid in wait for him in the way, when he came up from egypt.

I walked that walk for nine months (first time offense- i guess they went easy on me) I think your situation is harder because I was in high school and you have kids. But as another poster eloquently said - Same %&$*, different pile. It's BS. Just wait til they all line up to hug you. You will want to vomit at their robot insincerity, and you just might see how truly jacked up it is. I actually grew to like being DF'd because I didn't really like having to talk to those people (this took some distance and time to realize). But it's really hard when they were so nice to you before and hugged you and let you play with their kids. There is a kind of kick in the gut when you realize these friends of yours are actually willing to do that to you. It's hard to take. Also, I tried to fade a couple years after that and they hounded me until I met with them. Big mistake - stay away from committee meetings or judicial whatevers because they will make it so your kids won't be able to talk to you if you and your wife split up, for the rest of your life. whenever you feel bummed, give us a post, because a lot of us have been there and will make you feel not so alone...you already get enough of that right now. I don't know where my emoticons are, but if I could, I'd give you some eye contact, a smile, a hug and a beer.
