I think your Pastor said it beautifully. Really, what else can you do? I think it's important to allow God to work and for us to relinquish control. Hand it up to Him. Faith can move mountains, so I would put faith in Him that He will act. Pray, pray, and pray. When I think of my family still in the JW's, I think of this prayer from Paul: 18I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Eph. 1:18-23 ...and ask others to pray for your kids. Put their names on some prayer lists.

Dear Apocalypse, DANG!....WOW! So did you come out first and then go back in?...or when you were in, did you come out mentally but stayed in physically? It's amazing what you are doing and keep up the good work, but you must have some kind of iron stomach to just be in the midst of that utter depression and oppression.

*If you haven't already seen this:
Young People Ask . . .
Chat Rooms
—How Can I Avoid the Dangers?Introducing Moral Corruption
“I was in a chat room with a group of people who I thought were all Jehovah’s Witnesses,” says a youth named Tyler. “After a while, though, some of these people started disparaging our beliefs. Before long, it was evident that they were really apostates.” They were individuals who deliberately tried to undermine the morals of those who they claimed were their fellow believers.
God’s Son, Jesus Christ, warned that some of those who followed him would turn on their companions. ( Matthew 24:48-51 ; Acts 20:29, 30 ) The apostle Paul called such individuals in his time false brothers and says that they “sneaked in” to do harm to those in the Christian congregation. ( Galatians 2:4 ) The Bible writer Jude says that they “slipped in” with the goal of “turning the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for loose conduct.” ( Jude 4 ) He also describes them as “rocks hidden below water.”— Jude 12 .
Notice that both Paul and Jude identify the stealthy methods often used by apostates. These Bible writers noted that the apostates “sneaked in” or “slipped in” with the purpose of morally corrupting those in the Christian congregation. Today, chat rooms offer such corrupt ones the perfect cloak for their devious endeavors. Like rocks hidden below water, these false Christians mask their real intent beneath a pretense of concern for Witness youths. But their goal is to shipwreck the faith of unwary ones.— 1 Timothy 1:19, 20 .
This journal, as well as other material produced by Jehovah’s Witnesses, has repeatedly warned of this particular danger.# Therefore, anyone you meet in a chat room ostensibly set up for Jehovah’s Witnesses is, at best, a person who disregards such counsel. Do you really want as friends those who choose to downplay Bible-based direction?— Proverbs 3:5, 6 ; 15:5 .
...boy, I bet the WTBTS just hates the internet. They had it soo good when it didn't exist.

SCARY(actually hilarious) JW Urban Legends (smurf content)
by *jeremiah* indoes anyone have any dub urban legend stories?.
i remember a story running rampant when i was in my pre-teenage years that went a little something like this:.
word on the street was that a young child went to the circuit assembly with his parents.

Yeah, I was wondering how the smurf opens doors too. That little thing would have to make a running leap just to get to the knob.

"The smurf walked out of the purse during the opening song, and went down the aisle and out the door, yelling the whole time, ''I can't take this $hit!''"
HA! That's awesome. I like that one a lot better. Just the fact that the Smurf says $hit.
Another one I heard back in the day, went something like this:
A sister was out in the field ministry and approached a door by herself. Unbeknownst to the sister, she was knocking on a serial killers door. The serial killer had killed anyone and everyone who had ever came to his door. The sister witnesssed to the killer and left unharmed. Soon thereafter, the killer was caught and questioned by authorities. They asked him why he didn't kill the JW who came to his door alone. He said that the woman wasn't alone, but had two large men standing on both sides of her.

Does anyone have any Dub urban legend stories?
I remember a story running rampant when I was in my pre-teenage years that went a little something like this:
Word on the street was that a young child went to the circuit assembly with his parents. The child brought a little stuffed toy with him. However, this wasn't just any cute cuddly stuffed toy. This was one of those little blue demons that worldy people call Smurfs. Anyways, the stuffed little Smurf, got up in the middle of the assembly and walked out the door. Apparently the demon inside the stuffed toy could no longer take the "light" and "truth" inside the assembly hall and had to get out with the quickness.

I no longer go to Church
by KW13 inat the moment i believe in god but i no longer attend church, infact its been some months since i last went and i've never felt more sure of myself as a person.. the view i take at the moment is that when i left the witnesses, i immediately went to seek out something that would organize my life but give me the control for a while.
even at church i saw people 'hooked' but the sad thing was, their entire faith crumbled away from the church or if for example the priest (vicar) wasn't there.. i think it was an important part of my journey which helped me get where i am, and i think a lot of folks who leave the org who need something to fill their time and want friends quickly, should try it if its what they need, it was what i needed at that time.. .
on the whole, i have a problem with organized religion now, whereas last year and earlier this year i woulda said different.. .

I felt very much the same way Karl. I left "the truth" when i was 17 and didn't go to any other churches for quite awhile. I felt good about where i was and didn't want a church. Also, I was very skepticle of all organized Christianity.
However, in my mid twenties I began reading the Bible and truly searching again. Not to long after I put my trust Christ as my savior. I took to heart and believed, and still believe, Romans 10:8-13.
I have been going to church now for approximately four years now, and i love it. Its a non-denominational, bible based church.http://www.calvarychapel.com/
At first, I was really afraid of going to church and getting acquainted with members for fear of being hounded by them. For example, if i happened to miss church, I didn't want members calling me up, and wondering what's going on with me. However, I didn't find any of this. I found genuine fellowship in the Lord. I really understand now, the verse, "you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Any information on number of JW's who have left?
by *jeremiah* inso i'm curious if there is any accurate information out there as far as the number of people who have left the jw's.
maybe annually or per decade or whatever.. you have those who are disfellowshipped, those who are disassociated, and then those who are never baptised who just kind of walk away.
i'm sure "the society" has these numbers, yet, i'm sure they don't come off of them.
-
*jeremiah*
Well, 60% of my family has left and my dad was an elder for like 20 years. 4 of us are out and 3 are still in. We were the model JW family too. So that gives me hope overall. I think there is like, what?, 6.6 million in the JW's now?
When I left 13 yrs ago i think there was supposedly like 6 million JWs. It would just be so interesting to see their turnover rate. ...or any numbers on the issue for that matter.

I wasn't feeling well and my parents made me come to the meeting. I made it through the entire meeting and last song and then I passed out into the aisle during the closing prayer. As soon as the brother praying said amen there was a simultaneous thud, which was me hitting the ground. I woke up with the entire congregation surrounding me.
