IMHO

They have themselves covered on the legal front as once the letter is read it is destroyed.

Then they can embellish the information based on their bias or bad memory.

I lost all respect for the title "Pioneer" when I heard of an Elder that was removed but was allowed to continue as a Pioneer - figure that you if you can!

I thought Pioneers were supposed to be exemplary!

IMHO

Commenting / Participation is a big issue for me.

Some like to do it, some don't, it's down to personality.

Why can't they just leave alone those that don't like it?

I personally came away from Sunday's meeting far, far from being upbuilt - due to the subject matter - not because I didn't 'comment'.

Nostradamus prediction of 2012 and the timing of the society leaving New York City

i have been doing research on nostradamus prediction and some of his predictions talks about 2012 and planet x and possible flooding of new york city and ect.. which goes along with rev about the water turning bitter, and great famine because of the polar shifts.

does anyone know anything about this and the possible connection as is why they might be selling their real estate and trying to leave new york city?

any thoughts ... feel free to venture off topic..or outside the box..

IMHO

You may or may not believe something (i.e. Armageddon or Planet X) will come in 2012, but you do not know for a certainty that it will not so nobody here can rightfully write it off (until after the event).

Conversely there is a possibility it will happen, as there is for any year you like to mention.

Why do JW's only pick on Birthdays, Holidays, when so many other things are pagan

i've always wondered this, and with the holidays coming up, why does the watchtower only pick on certain things, and leave other things to question, or to the conscience?.

IMHO

I havn't heard that lipstick was pagan but I did here the origin goes back to prostitutes who wanted to make their lips red to mimic their genitalia that become reddish when ready for action.
