I've set my mind to it that I'm going to move to Australia.
I've made a whole ton of freinds over the internet that all live in australia, and they're supportive of me moving there.
And before you think "You stupid 17 year old fool!", I've been putting some serious thought into this. It'd be a nice chance to start over. I don't have any social skills, so a large base of freinds would make acclimating to society easier. And America's foreign policy is extremely annoying. We've only been making enemies, and it seems theres more and more soon to be nuclear capable nations that hate us. -

I must agree with UnConfused's first choice:
The Godfather.
Think about it...if I still believed the JWs, I would not see what is now my favorite movie ever :P .
I didn't get to see the second one, but I have seen the Part1/Part2 edited together one, and I just have to say I'd much rather see it as a whole. I think it ruined the movie for me knowing that theres a bigger better version of part 2 :P . -

Strange visit
by bagpuss inafter 4 years away from meetings and no contact with the cong i attended, yesterday i answered the door to find an elder at the door.
he was po in my cong but has been removed i had heard.
he said he was calling about the disaster fund and that the society wanted to update everyones details like phone numbers and contacts.

I'm guessing he accidently said "fund" (habit perhaps?)
My family had to fill out forms and such with our information, nothing about money was involved.
And to answer ex-nj-jw's point, they had a required person that you would contact that lives in a different state. In the event you're able to contact someone, you contact that person, and they update elders as to your status.
But how the elders would get in contact with them is just as puzzling...Not a very well thought out plan now that I think about it. -

13-yr old girl writes: example of Witnesses lying
by Dogpatch ini get emails like this all the time.
some jw gets upset at the stuff on my site, and wanting to add more weight/shock value to what they say, they either mention in passing that they are "not one of jehovah's witnesses" or are a child.
this one claims to be a 13-yr old girl!

I've been near this situation, and know young girls that would do this.
In my younger years (:P) , I did indeed defend the watchtower online. It was very limited tho.
I had better grammar than that however...
So don't bash, you'll probably have another apostate freind in a few years :P . -

THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?
by Black Man ini was watching this documentary on the various galaxies and it stated that the universe is still expanding, planets are being created as we speak.
it also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.
what do you believe about the universe?

JW Fired for Refusing to Sing Happy Birthday
by Kenneson inin mesquite, texas, sabrina ballantine says she was fired from razzoo's for refusing to sing happy birthday.
she is a jw, who does not believe in celebrating birthdays and singing this song.. "razzoo's settles lawsuit over religious firing.".

I think it's wrong to fire someone over something religious, JW or not.
That being said, it was a petty thing to fire someone over anyway. Just a silly little song for the kids (although, I must admit, never having heard that song, I wouldn't mind if somebody sang it to me for my birthday :P ) . -

On average, how many non-JW/Invitees did you see at KHs on Sundays?
by NotaNess ini was thinking about my 1 and only visit to a sunday "service" as an invite, to a kh a few years back.. it never dawned on me til now, but we showed up in collar shirt & slacks / casual dress, and immediately felt way under dressed (& uncomfortable due to that).
and now i think that relatively, there's probably not a lot of new faces that are seen in these small congregations, and although i felt like i was initially just going to another "church service"...i really wasn't, was i?.
now i'm thinking that silently, everyone was probably so tuned into my wife, my daugther and i when we showed up and throughout the service.

That's odd...
You usually don't make it out the door before they implant you with the microchip.
When I do, they get the same treatment.
I never watched someone to see if they were 'witness' material. I just looked cuz it was strange to see people without fancy clothes.
Then again, I'm an innocent person :P .
