why does the watch tower society not build and operate its own hospitals for its people who refuse to have blood in their treatment programme?.
surely, if bloodless surgery and treatment is so superior and they could prove it with their own statistics and survival rates they could show that blood should not be used.. so, what are they afraid of?.
It could be run privately. They could have ONLY JW doctors and JW patients who would have to PAY, of course!
Where would they get the doctors from? Remember, it takes years of advanced education to become a medical doctor. And as for the patients, how are "window washers" supposed to pay for such treatments when they may not even have insurance!
one rule our hall had was that families with young children should only sit in the rear of the hall.
if a baby got fussy, the attendant was to go to the mother and ask her to bring the child in the library or "backroom".. also, disfellowshipped persons were to sit in the back of the hall and if they talked to another df'd one in front of the congregation members, they were threatened with not being allowed to get reinstated and having a lack of humility.. did your elders make up certain rules in your hall?.
A sister sitting in the seat at the end of a row had to move if a brother wanted the seat. For some strange reason, a brother couldn't make his way into the middle of the row if a seat was vacant there.
i remember an elder walking in the hall and it was the 1st thing he said to me as he saw me dealing with the sound dept.

when you used to go in the field service, did you go out to have 2 more hours on your report, or did you really want to save somebody's life by preaching a message of salvation ?
Just to have 2 hours? Even 1 hour was enough for me! I hated the field Circus with a passion. I just went to keep the Service Overbear(ing) off my case.
some of you may remember me from last spring/summer.
i was the one who kept begging her jw boyfriend to take her back after every breakup.
i came back in here the other night to read some of my past posts and replies, basically to keep myself from calling him.. i moved back to my home state this summer and am teaching here and spending tons of time with my family.
He couldn't finish school because he didnt' have the money. And then his two ex-wives spent all his money while he was married, so he couldn't finish it then. And then after each divorce, he had to declare bankruptcy because of their spending habits. Basically, he has a deep hatred of women, all women, including his mother. I was the scapegoat for all the women who have "let him down." The crowning moment was when he said that he was too picky to be with me. He said that he was feeling bad for how he had been treating me, until he realized that if I would have only listened to him and worked with him, he would not have had to be so hard on me.
Wow! He certainly is caught up in himself isn't he? Then he has the gall to call YOU spoilt? Emilyblue, you should be thankful that you're rid of him now. You seem to be a very level-headed young lady to me, and a boyfriend like that would've just been an albatross around your neck.

Maybe the brothers should take a page out of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's" book. Remember how he would wear his uniform jacket inside out? lol Then there was the time he came in with the necktie around his head and proclaimed: "A tie must be worn with the uniform yes ... but it doesn't say WHERE!"

I agree with Smoky. I've never asked myself that question and I'm not very fussy. If I had to name something ... well ... I would say chocolate. For me, it's great for any occasion and it always makes things seem better.
