although this expression has been used, it is best to avoid it since it seems to imply that jehovah's mercy softens or restrains his justice, as if his mercy were superior to the harsher quality of justice.
Suppose you saw a piece of candy lying in the gutter. Would you pick up that candy and eat it? Of course not! That candy is unclean. Like that candy, holidays may seem sweet, but they have been picked up from unclean places.
What a crappy way to misapply an illustration!!! The obvious origin of that piece of candy was in a clean factory. Just because ONE piece ends up in the gutter, does that say anything for the millions of identical pieces that are still fit for consumption?
why do loyal jws take sight-seeing vacations?
if they will live forever on a paradise earth, why do they spend time seeing the wonders of the world and the beauty of it all while on a vacation from their secular employment?
they will have the rest of eternity to seek out the wonders of this world, will they not?

I think I've outgrown my "makeup every day" phase. There was once a time when I'd wash off and reapply my makeup twice while at work (I've got really oily skin), but the sun here's merciless, so I put on sunscreen now instead. I go without makeup most of the times (especially since my skin tone has evened out).

Except for my lip balm or some lip gloss .... been addicted to the stuff since 1988! Maybe that's why I always get compliments on my lips.

i already know that this guy was a jw but i wanted to know where his headspace was.

So what gives the "Society" any more authority in the matter than the other historians? What makes him think the "elders" understand the matter any more than he does anyway?

So where would one find the 'scriptural' requirement regarding visiting a grave? What actual biblical principle would such a 'requirement' be based upon?

One of the most blatant examples of idolatry in JWism occurs every 6 months when the Circuit Overbearance Circuit Overseer comes around. Have they ever thought of that?

the congregation i go to isnt like that.
Your congregation experience as a "potential" JW changes dramatically when you become a full fledged member. Love bombing encouragement for the most part is no longer necessary. Your level of "enjoyment" isn't going to remain the same, and it would be very unfair to have your fiance deal with something that she wants no part of (especially JWism). My advice to you would be to make a choice between her and being a JW. You can still pull out now. After baptism, such an option ceases to exist. Better to cut your losses now.

How very true!!! Then to add insult to injury, an engagement period longer than 6 months is not "recommended". How practical could that advice be?
