  Please rescue me! I just got hit with a JW Mac Truck!

  oh my, i just had a visit from a jw who proceeded to, for an hour and half, try and cover every doctrine in the book, jump from scripture to scripture, half the time i was so confused about what was being said.

  the other witness barely got a word in edgewise.

  i quickly realized that there was going to be no discussion--it was sit and listen and try and look intelligent.

  chilling similarities to WT in "Leaving the Saints" Anyone read it?

  hi all: i just finished (in one day) the 2005 book "leaving the saints" by martha beck.

  it is a very disturbing inside look at mormonism, wife abuse, sex abuse, mental illness, lies, coverups, and apostacy.

  creepy words to K Hall "hymn"

  do any of you have the creepy words to the hymn with the line "loyal submission, in recognition..." when i heard it sung, it made my skin crawl because i knew they were actually singing to the organization not to jehovah.

  it made me think of a facist rally and i realized this was mind control at its best--music has been shown to be a huge indoctrinational (is that even a word?

  what are your recommendations for this discussion so they might actually listen?

  i know they are closed minded but how did it make you sit up and take notice?

  as a lurker, i am now attempting my first post.

  a question for any who may wish to comment.

  what would be the response if i asked a jw to open our "discussion" in prayer to jehovah for our eyes to be open to the truth of what we are about to study?
