Sorry 00DAD. I apologize, you're right. I don't have to deal with it everyday like you do.
What I mean is, there is little anyone can do to change it. We can only change our response.
But I feel bad that I came across as coldly as I did. That's not how I feel about it.
Be patient and loving, and perhaps in time, they will come back to you. :)

Hi Truthseeker. I just want to say, I love Terry's post here, and I don't scoff at your faith.
However, I don't believe the flood account for a second. It doesn't make any sense in how it was reported, how it was purportedly done, or what it accomplished.
See, "evil" according to the bible is still around. Nothing changed.
I think that the only relevant terms to measure this are in human terms.
Having said that, I wish you well in your faith. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the flood account of the bible, it's potential meaning is very limited today, especially considering the (lack of) evidence.

First off, don't get angry about this. We are all victims. In the time since I left, none of my living family, including my dad, will talk to me.
Sucks.
Take comfort in the fact that many have, and will continue to disobey this idiodicy. When I was an elder, this was a big problem, and it will continue I am sure.
There are borderline families who will follow, but this article will push just as many the other way. Don't worry, the Governing Body can't win this. They are leaders of a type of cult. You have to expect that their #1 play, shunning, will be promoted.
Having said that, I will also say that these idiots more than ever are a CULT CULT CULT!

I am waiting for someone to convince us that the Watchtower has enough good, talented artists to embed images that would cause us to go to the KH? You know, subliminal art.
Sheesh... (I mean, Sheep)
May this prove once and for all that the WT can barely keep in their employ "artists".
I bet someone called in a favor for a new artist. This is crap art. Looks like he just got his winky wanked.

Happiness is a Study
by AllTimeJeff inparadise!.
live forever!.
as jw's we were taught that things, money, posessions, cannot make you happytm.

Two things:
wallsofjericho NAILED it about the "feeling" of happiness in JW land. It was really the relief that you don't have to feel guilty for not doing something the group told you that you should be doing. Great point. Thanks!
Poppers, I loved what you said here, and I have seen this true in my own case and many other people as well. It is why I am so focused on this. I get it now...
People generally think that happiness must be acquired, and therefore go in search of it in some fashion. What they don't realize is that happiness is an inherent quality of what they truly are, and since they have no knowledge of what they truly are they are influenced by outside sources. Those sources will send them on endless quests to fulfill their desire for happiness and peace, and no matter how successful they are in achieving some particular goal to meet that purpose they will shortly feel a need to set another goal. In the meantime, they completely overlook what's already present within themselves.
If I may opine, what it is within you can grow and make you even happier, but you have to know and love yourself first. It is well worth the time and effort to get to know yourself for the first time. :)

From the inside...
by OneDayillBeFree init all looks so empty and meaningless, useless and pointless!

It actually isn't meaningless or pointless. It's a part of where you came from. You can turn this to your advantage.
You can decide the rest of your life, whatever you want it to be. And you can take the lessons learned along the way to help you. Absolutely 100% true. :)

I think the last real news reporter was Walter Cronkite. Seriously.
I am always disturbed by group think. I am disappointed in MSNBC, because while I tend to trust their news a tiny bit more then Fox, they still sold out for the left, in response to Fox's selling out to the right. In both cases, the reason was advertising dollars.
CNN smartly claimed the middle. I'm a bit cynical about that too.
Here's a simple idea guys: Don't look for the slant to the news that you agree with. Appraise each story as it is.
I watch Fox News, am a big fan of Morning Joe, and prefer MSNBC's analysis because in my view, they do have more views to share. I think Fox News goes out of it's way to portray only one view of everything. That isn't news. That's a game show.

Yet another reason why using the legal system for civil relief and to bring down JW's is pretty close to a waste of time.
Criminal? That depends on if/when/ever the USA starts to investigate things like pedophilia. That is different, but I don't see that around the bend.
