The Ministerial Training "School(??)" Scam

MTS first class was 1986.

It isn't a "rule" about not getting married, its worse then that, it is a "suggestion". That gives the Service Dept all the leeway they need to get these guys off the "program" or keep them.

"Program" you ask? Yup, MTS brothers with an assignment get correspondence from the branch at least once a year or more. A "Personal Qualifications Form" is filled out yearly by the CO which basically tells the Service Dept if the guy is "company material" or not.

If an MTS grad dates and gets married, it is up to the CO and his recommendation as to whether he stays in the program. Who he picks as a wife (i.e. is she a pioneer with a good reputation) matters mightily.

Once married and if approved to stay in the program, you can be reasonably sure that they are at least keeping a long term view of this new "super couple" as possible CO's. The current CO has to recommend them, the DO then signs off on it, then another "Personal Qualifications Form" is filled out by the local elders on both MTS grad AND his wife.... They are then approved as subs. Once you are a sub-CO couple, and esp if he is an MTS grad, it is usually only a matter of time before they become CO's....

MTS is supposedly a branch of Gilead. They study only the NT. Attention is given to Congregation organization, each of the major 5 elder positions are discussed in depth (PO,SO,SEC,TMSO,WTC), each of the 5 weekly meetings and how they are to be handled correctly is discussed... Judicial Committees and letters from the branch are also covered...

Then at the end is a section where you are basically told not to shake things up and be humble....

There is "encouragement" to stay single at least 2 years after you go to your assignment.

It all depends on what kind of MTS grad a congregation gets, but what kind of help can you recieve from a bunch of 20 something year old guys with bulging ego's, goals and aspirations?

I love these WT Comments.... I read them every Sunday morning... (JK on that one, but it is fun to beat these empty pinata's masquerading as "spiritual food")

I loved the BS from paragraph 9, that the angels actually benefit from Jehovah's dealings with the Christian Congregation... Then they quote 1 Pet 1:10-12, which if you still believe in the bible, contextually talks about the angels desire to know the salvation god performed through Christ. But here are some lessons the angels could learn from gods dealings with the cult known as Jehovah's Witnesses

Don't pick a a pyramidologist as your man to start back true worship. (CT Russell)
Don't pick an alcoholic, bullying, womanizing ass who would tell everyone to knock on doors to preach, though he never did. (JF Rutherford)
Don't pick as your oracle* (Freddie Franz) a man who saw in almost every other bible verse a parallel between men like Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Job, etc and see them as modern day parallels to Rutherford and Knorr. (*"Oracle" comment attributed to deceased GB member Karl Klein from COC)

Yeah, the angels could learn how NOT to run a religion from the invisible heavens.

The Biblical Flood Thoroughly Trashed

there are many new ones on this board who may not have seen this.

my old friend alan feurerbacher who has done an unbelievable amount of scholarly research on many subjects must have spent about two or three thousand years researching virtually every aspect of the biblical flood story, and am providing the link to this subject (together with links to other excellent work by him).

it's long and detailed and definitely not for those who get bored with more than four sentences of information and sound bites.

The Great Flood... What a vivid memory I have of dear old mom reading me this story out of the My Book of Bible Stories. Seeing people die and drown, and then being told that this was because they pissed off God...

It's amazing the amount of emtional investment we put in our beliefs, even if the come from scrolls thousands of years old...

Here's the thing about the Ark being "found". I remember watching the "documentary" on TV when they first "found" it... Do you think by now they would have done research on this damn thing in similar fashion to the Titanic? How many times have those remains been revisited? And why? BECAUSE YOU CAN! BECAUSE IT IS THEIR AND ACTUALLY EXISTS!

the real power over doctrinal direction and such, i was just wondering how we know this.

Oh yeah, just remembered this one... When Losch did morning worship in 05, he mentioned after he went to Gilead that he and his roommate held hands as single men when they prayed before bed... This was in the 1960's....

THEN he said..... "I wonder if you young men here at Bethel by praying together before bed would not draw you closer to Jehovah and each other..."

It was week 20 at Gilead and I was freaking tired. I had had 20 weeks of this shit. My reaction as I recall was "Does he realize how many gays are running around here?" Naturally I didn't tell this to my table head, a Bethel lifer who was in his 60's and seemed like someone who already took Losch's advice and liked it.....

I want to ditto the fact that Jack and Mildred Barr were about as nice a JW you will ever meet in the upper echelon. He was ego free. As a result, he was also less influential....

Losch is a douche bag. He still talks about football as late as 2005 when I was there. And all the bethelites start to talk about him by rolling their eyes, then saying, "Well...."

Here are some things I know about Jaracz

At the 2005 annual meeting, Anthony Morris, newly appointed GB, gave the concluding prayer. It was truly the oddest prayer I have ever heard, and I have heard some doozies. In it, he mentioned Nathan Knorr by name, and how Jehovah used him. Then he mentioned "hard working Br Jaracz" by name. Those were the only GBers he mentioned, one dead, the other barely alive... (Morris might have mentioned Freddie Franz, I can't remember at the moment..)

I do know from 2 DO's and several MTS grads that the Ministerial Training School is Jaracz's baby. Until a couple of years ago, he was at almost every graduation. (MTS schools are at satellite locations throughout the USA and more recently, the world.) Thanks to MTS schools, we have 20 something elders appointed way too early who messes, then end up leaving and getting married, much to the chagrin of the GB and Jaracz who would like them to stay single for a while... (like Teddie of course...)

Several throughout the Service Dept have made little comments to me and around me about Jaracz's influence. The one thing the old timers have mentioned to me once is that he was a big fan of Knorr....

That rumored scar on NH Knorr's rear end was possibly Jaracz's lip mark indelibly printed on the saggy cheek of the 3rd president of the WTBTS.... (this one I made up, the stuff above I saw or heard discussed at Bethel)

the question: i have a feeling that this question has been asked so many times b4 so forgive me if it got repeatedif secular books and historians say that the fall of babylon was in 587/537 why would jw use a date 20 years later and if jesus was enthroned as king to destroy wicked ppl and christendom how come he does not know when to destroy wickedness( unless jehovah tells he 2 otherwise jah could of done this himself) but only the 1914 generation will see "the signs of the last days"?.

First of all, it is because they are being blatently dishonest. You will read in both the SI book and the Insight volumes that the GB hangs their hat on the pivotal date of 539 BCE. (they define a pivotal date as one that agrees with their chronology and a proven date in ancient history) 539 is the agreed upon date of the fall of Babylon when the Medo-Persian army invaded...

To clarify, these dates come primarily from ancient cunifrom tablets of the Babylonians. Their priests among others kept excellent track of star positions and other phenomenon. They recorded them on these tablets. By the thousands. Today, anyone who studies star positions can give accurate Roman calander dates to any event recorded by the Babylonians because these phenomenon such as comets, eclipses, etc occur at regular intervals. We simply count backward.

This is important to note, because the very same tablets that show Babylon was destroyed in 539 BCE also tell us that Jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 BCE. How can you take one date and not the other?

The answer is all to obvious; it doesn't fit in with 1914. There is absolutely no way the JW's would exist without 1914. 1914 wouldn't exist without this fictional, made up date of 607. ONLY JW's claim that this is the date of Jerusalems destruction.

Your question is oddly worded if that is alright, but I credit that to JW theology tying up your brain in knots. You must have actually tried to understand it and you blew a fuse! In any case, the rest of the JW theology that springs from 1914 (being chosen as the FD Slave in 1914, the continually changing "generation" prophecy that saw 1914, etc) are false, because the premise that JW use to say they have the truth is an absolute lie, a lie that the Governing Body is well aware of but tries to keep buried.

Wow... I have some similar stories, except I never cared for the chicks I insulted or turned into the elders. As I look back now, I am sort of jealous, they left the JW's while a teen. I did them such a favor.. I hope....

As long as we all learn from our experiences, there are no such things as bad ones... (embarrassing on the other hand,,,, I can't help you... of course, I have insulted so many girls while a JW in my teens, I can' only credit my total lack of awareness for not feeling as embarrassed as I should have...)

This year, it looks like a good and decent man, (who wasn't the coach Bo was), Lloyd Carr, will retire. What a great way to go out. Do I think it will happen? Earl Bruce got a win on his last game, why not? GO BLUE!!!!
