  When was Alaska added to US for Watchtower statistics?

  in another thread we were reminded that the brooklyn head counters had recently added.

  alaska to the us, instead on having its statistics separate in the yearbook.. could anyone tell us when this happened.

  just wondering if this was the reason for the.

  I think Alaska has been running on a negative, a decrease percentage for most past years,,maybe they didn't like that showing that way & decided to absorb it in with the mainland.

  Do you have a xJW "Meetup" in your area? Here in Phoenix there is. I just went to one a couple wks ago. I may go once a month, may be able to handle that. I decided to be a self-appointed 'library lady'..I've got literature for xJWs or leaving JWs to lend out for one month at a time (free- honor system),,also a few DVD related to cults but more on w/entertainment style like "The Village" and "Meadow Mountain Massacre" etc. There were 8 of us there (including my husband never a JW, but he's so supportive of me). I placed two books & two DVDs - hee-hee. I think I will find this fulfilling to me to share with local ones,

  When I was 14 yrs old I would have done the same thing as Dennis, her grandson, to refuse to take a blood transfusion. Only, I was fortunate, I got to grow up and review all the teachings of JWdom and realize the mind control tactics done on us. Now I am a grandma enjoying my own free will and free mind. The organization so needs to pay for the the lives of thousands and for tens of thousands more that, may have not needed blood but had extra anxiety of the blood issue to face during a critical time.

  We knew the regimen. My friend asked to come to her Mom's memorial service at the Kingdom Hall. It talked of her mom, & mentioned her only child and 6 granddaughters briefly and nothing else except the grandmother's belief system/organization, thus the sermon of the organization, otherwise not personalized. It felt empty to us about the person. It impersonalized the grandmother, the daughter and the granddaughters (who are each outstanding and great survivors).

  for so many years i put hours and hours into field service and the like.

  hot stuffy cars catering to the whims of old women and arrogant men.

  Isn't it wonderful to have freedom to give "unconditional love" to our children and grandchildren & others! Something we never heard growing up. Our love affects the next generation more than anything else.

  a new danish movie have premier today in the danish theathers.. it is about a young girl, and her life inside jw and her relations ship with her boy friend.. and all the conflikt this gives her.

  i hope the movie will somehov be translatet to english.

  How many DF'd and DA'd ex-JWs still believe it's the truth?

  i just got off the phone with my sister-in-law.

  we don't talk regularly at all - but today the discussion turned to our beliefs.

  she's da'd herself 15 years ago, but she is still filled with guilt over not being able to live up to the standards of the witnesses.

  We read and listened hours a week for years/decades at least 95% WT interpretation, read so much into WT think. Ones after leaving have to "read, read, read" the facts about the WT organization to clear out and re-open our broken mind thought processes. The Watchtower organization put up man-made doctrination walls in our head. So many get 'stuck' there. It is baffling to me.

  JW woman in trouble

  i am not a jw and only know what my friend has told me about the faith.

  i saw this website and decided to see if i could get another opinion on this matter.

  during the course of my business, i have met and become friends with a troubled woman who was born into a jw family.

  Does she work with you,,you said you met in the course of your business? I understand for women who are abused, they must have a plan. Is her child a son or daughter? If a daughter, would she want her daughter to have a life like hers? She must make a planned action. It is very true that the elders of JWs will take sides of her husband. It's wonderful that she has confided in you to this point. Does she have a health plan that she could speak with a counselor and help direct her? Does her husband know you, I hope not,,as he will try to forbid her to not speak with you as he will not see that he has a problem,,only its her and possibly you and consider you a bad influence on her since you are not a JW believer. Is she working now, encourage her to develop skills as part of her plan and focus. Best wishes to you.

  let me start off by saying that i'm glad to know this support group and website is available.

  i decided to dissocaite myself four years ago.

  i actually emailed an author that wrote a book about her experience as jw and why she left.
