Well, I still love "White Shoulders." Not the copy that is sold by Evyan, but the real thing. I always get compliments when I wear it. It's hard to find, though, so recently I tested a lot of perfumes at a perfume counter and wound up with "Daisy," by Marc Jacobs. I deliberately ignored any perfume sold by a name -- as someone earlier said, why would I want a perfume picked out by Beyonce, or for god's sake, Justin Bieber?

my favorite is dolce & gabbana (red), followed by d&g "the one", followed by coco chanel .
on men, i love the smell of the original hugo boss - used to make my tummy clench in a good way .

Well, LB, saying your goodbyes has an ominous tone. Makes us worried. I guess right now you can't see your way forward. One foot in front of the other, that's the way. I've been there - 30-some years ago. I'm a testament to how things can get better if you just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Better to quit and go through the struggle to find a new job than to lose your mind and be committed to a loony bin! I know what you're going through -- been there myself many years ago. Bang on every door possible looking for another job. When you call your creditors and explain the situation, ask them about jobs, too. Get out the phone book and just start at the letter A and call every company that is in business in your town looking for a job.

Why can't JW's and Born-Again Christians just talk about non-biblical things?

i was just calling him to say hello because it has been about a year since we last talked and before i could say "hi carl" every other word was "jesus"" jesus" "jesus" "jesus".
i could not get in a word edge wise without him blasting me with "jesus this" and "jesus that".

It can be very discouraging for people with cancer to read stuff like that. Anecdotal evidence isn't really any kind of evidence. Evidence shows that surgery and chemo -- radical though they may seem -- produce better results. Of course, you should eat the healthiest food you can get. Of course you should drink clean water. But -- and I know this from personal experience in the alternative health community -- you can still die with cancer even though you eat very good food and do all the things that the alternative health community suggests. For every story where a person rejects treatment and survives, there are probably a dozen stories of people who reject treatment and die.
I watched the most amazing video recently, Pink Ribbons, Inc., on Netflix. A group of women with stage 4 cancer were interviewed. They say that this kind of story makes them feel like failures -- they followed the rules of pure diet, etc., but their cancers advanced. Rather than relate anecdotal stories that are more discouraging than anything else, why not look at the real evidence? Lots and lots of studies are reported on the NIH web page and anyone can search them and read the abstracts.

Brown a couple of pork steaks, put in the crock pot. Add two jalapenos and one ahaheim chile, roasted, peeled and chopped. Add one small chopped onion, a glug of vinegar, a handful of chopped cilantro and a pinch of dried Mexican oregano. Add a little bit of water, cover and cook until the meat is very tender. Shred the meat and return to the pot, discard the bones. If you like, add potatoes diced into small cubes. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender.
Makes wonderful tacos.
Also, turkey thigh, cooked until very tender and easy to shred in Herdez green chile sauce with a little chicken broth, diced onion and cilantro.

Nearly Lost It at Work
by LouBelle ini've made no secret that i do not like the place or the people where i work.. i've had to borrow money to get my drums/brakes fixed.
i dropped my car off this morning before work.
i hesitantly spoke to one of the bosses (female that is so irritating) asking if i could please go pick up the car once they phoned to say it was ready - if i could use the time i usually took for lunch.

That's one reason I was self-employed most of my working life. Even then I'd have to do jobs for assholes, but as soon as possible I'd replace them with better clients.
I'd rather clean houses for a living than work for an asshole. In fact, I did clean houses for a living for a few years -- mostly for working people who were so glad to come home to a clean house that they would never consider mistreating me.

I watch the Canada geese around here. Right now the neighborhood is full of adult geese and their little goslings, so darn cute. They cruise around this property twice a day eating weeds out of the lawn.
