well I had severe anxiety attacks for a long time after leaving the JWs, from relentless stress, JW related and non-JW related (have to be fair.) I think jgnat gave good advice. Go to your doctor and get some help. I remember my doctor said I was so stressed he couldn't believe I was still functioning. I also remember that after three days on med I woke up cheerful and found myself singing as I went through the day. I only stayed on med for a year, haven't needed it since then, but am deeply grateful I got the help when I needed it.

the thing with natural remedies is that much of the evidence in support of use is anecdotal. Look for information that tells you things like dosage, methods of administration, effects, side effects, what happens when you combine with other meds/herbs. For instance, several of the herbs you are taking should NOT be taken if you are taking coumadin. Some are a little risky, like ephedra, if you have high blood pressure. Some are phytohormones, as noted, and mimic progesterin (sp?) in the body. Do research, but don't take any statements for granted - many many sites on the web that give you information about natural supplements also sell those supplements, so their claims should be regarded as a sales pitch, not necessarily the truth.
There is an Herbal PDR based on German research - you can find it and order it on the web.
I learned a good lesson a long time ago. Someone was selling bee pollen, and my friend asked if it was "good for allergies." The person selling the bee pollen said, "oh yes, it is very good for allergies!" So my friend, who has a lot of allergies to flowers and pollen, took a big dose of bee pollen. Collapsed with anaphylactic shock not long after. fortunately he was with people who had the sense to call paramedics. Some folks I know would have done polarity or something in that emergency.
What did I learn from that? Don't rely on people who sell the products to give you accurate information about their uses/effects/dosage etc. Do your own research. Saying something is "good" for a condition is useless. You need to know who says so, what dosage, how administered, etc.
I use supplements all the time, just very carefully. After all, they are still meds. However, now that we are learning so very much about what's in food, we can tailor our diets to solve some problems and not have to take so many supplements. Also, you can find an acupuncturist who is actually trained in the use of herbs that have been studied thoroughly, and have that person advise you on what combinations of herbs you should take.

Are you choosy and pickey?
by JH ini eat the same bread since years, and i love it, and wouldn't change for anything else.
but since a few months it's harder to find because it's not the best seller so the grocery store holds many other kinds, but i'm choosy and pickey and i know what i like.. since a week, i can't find that bread, so today i drove over 300 km's going to different towns and different grocery stores to see if i would find it there.....but no...i didn't.
i see other loaves of bread of the same make that i'm looking for, but not exactly that particular one.. so, i wrote to the company who makes the bread, and told them that they sell a product that can't be found anywhere, and it's not discontinued.... if anyone sees this bread, please pm me.. .

well, we all play the same old games over and over. Let's see, he's an abuser, you're a victim. No, he's a victim, you're rescuing him. No, you're both victims and the court is abusing you.
Grow up, let HIM take the consequences of HIS actions. Quit rescuing him. Quit running interference, as another poster said. Why are you so nice-nice to someone who clearly doesn't give a rat's ass about you? Go over there, get the furniture you want, and then stay out of it. Why are you cleaning the damn refrigerator? Maybe all this hassle just allows you to keep interacting with him? You haven't moved on at all.
by the way, one of the things abusers do is blame the victim, so of course it's all your fault, and logic won't convince him otherwise.

To Know, know, know me is to J-W-D Me!!!
by prophecor inwould you be comfortable knowing that your co-workers, neighbors and or friends could find out so much about you, how you thought, felt and believed on so many issues?
could you let others who don't really have a clue as to who you really are, come here and look you up?.
would you consider it a good start for someone who wished to get to know you, to start here?.

"Obviously, we would all post our real names here if we all felt okay with that. Much of what we discuss here, we discuss with strangers and much of it is intimate, personal and painful. I would not feel okay with everyone I know reading all of what I write here"
Yeah! I wouldn't be comfortable with having people who know me read the things I have posted here - I'm open here in a way I can't be elsewhere, and even here it is threatening. I know that a dedicated snooper could find out our identities, but the ordinary person couldn't, or wouldn't bother I suppose. As for the government, who cares what they think?

Miss Manners says she wishes more people would be like that - pleasant and respectful, cheerful with others. Everyone varies depending on events, mood, blood sugar, history, etc. and it is just a kindness to others to be pleasant no matter how you feel inside. It's mature not to unload your darker feelings on others. I wish I could remember that in traffic. I've taken to saluting other drivers - might get myself shot one of these days. However, back to the topic. Work isn't the same as your social life, and people who make that mistake often confuse boundaries, usually by wanting you to do something you shouldn't for their benefit. I am nice and friendly, but people are often surprised when they try to wheedle me into something I shouldn't do, just because it would benefit them. I interrupt them to say, I don't tell lies for anyone, or that's against the law. I just keep repeating the flat statement - and it's funny how mad people get when they can't get their selfish way. It's also amazing to me how MANY people think others should break the law for them.

Does God mind being called the wrong name?
by Gill insince it is a well known fact that god's name is definitely not jehovah, but this was a name only in 'operation' for the last few hundred years thanks to a catholic monk, doesn't the very jealous, bad tempered god of the ot mind being called, in effect, 'fred' when his real name is 'george'.. i would think that call anyone by a knowingly incorrect name is rude, rude, rude, so how does this bad tempered, psycopathic, mass murdering god of the ot feel about this transgression on the part of the wtbts/jehovah's witnesses!!????.
not too pleased, i would guess!.

Does God mind being called the wrong name? Which god are you talking about? There are thousands of them, and a lot of them have a bigger constituency than Jehovah or whatever you call him/it.
I'm trying to remember the name of a nice science fiction story from quite a while ago about the names of god - about a monastery in Asia somewhere that put in a computer system to name all the names of god, in the belief that when all the names had been named, the solar system would go out like a light.

how about "the violent dangerous alcoholic abusive asshole you are married to is your spiritual head representing God and you must obey him and take the punishment and watch your children suffer or you won't please god."
I think a lot of things that happen to children because of their bizarre rules are twisted and sick - including the blood transfusion thing, the two witness thing, and male domination thing, the no education thing, all twisted and sick.

Do you still believe that you have a chance of living eternally?
by JH inor, is it completely out of the question, and you know for sure that this life is it, and there is nothing else after.. maybe you believe that there is a possibility of eternal life, but you don't qualify..

I have become very comfortable with not knowing. I imagine that this is it, because it's pretty clear that whatever is going on in the universe, humans aren't central to it. But also, we don't really know what the whole picture is as far as what is going on in the universe. So why worry about it? Crumpet is right - live the life we have now - try not to hurt other people while you do it.

could be if he takes on half the financial responsibilities, you'll like him better. No matter how good a person you are, if you carry more than half the burden for no good reason, you get resentful. And if you are really tired all the time, work, child, school, housework, etc., it is hard to feel anything for anyone, you just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Your temporary agreement might take pressure off both of you and your relationship may improve.
