long list of things to do, got some of them done. Also thought about my problems - my landlord asked about my husband (you know, the one who tried to kill me and then tried to kill a cop, who shot him in the leg.) I started to cry, so to cheer me up my landlord told me that 62 years ago this month he was released from a concentration camp. He said he lost his entire family, parents and siblings, in one day. Must have been a terrible grief. So I guess I'll suck it up and think about something else.

Isn't that great? I pick on other people, and screw it up myself! What is it I have seen folks write: roflmao? That's really funny! Should I edit it or leave it as it is?

Evolution and "Missing Link" theory
by Mile 0 innot long ago, i caught the tale end of a show where this biologist believes that both apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.
therefor there is no so-called "missing link".
has anyone heard about this theory?.

I remember reading on the BBC news online about the discovery of the "hobbits" on Flores Island. They also said that fossils of giant rats and lizards and pygmy elephants were discovered there. Doesn't that sound like some kind of movie? Miniature humans surviving among giant animals. Instead it turns out to be the truth. So much more interesting than creation, isn't it?
"Scientists last week announced the discovery of a new, tiny species of human that lived 12 000 years ago on the Island of Flores in Indonesia. At only 1 metre high the hominid has been nicknamed the Hobbit. Other fossils from Flores already indicate that huge rats and monstrous lizards lived alongside pygmy elephants."
from the BBC news online, some time in 2004.

"Momentarily" as in "thank you for holding. Someone will be with you momentarily." A better word is "shortly" or "presently." "Momentarily" means for a moment, not in a moment.
"Momento" instead of memento. Pause to bang my head against a wall...It's MEMento, as in MEMory, not momento as momentum, an entirely different word.
And the worst is one I have seen quite a few times on the forum. Folks confuse I and me. For instance, "my mother-in-law gave a gift to my husband and I" is incorrect. If you wouldn't say "someone gave a gift to I" then don't say "to my husband and I." The correct use is "my mother-in-law gave a gift to my husband and me."
Am I alone in this or are the rest of you bothered by this kind of thing?

middle 1950s. KH in a crappy old building with an apartment upstairs. During the Thursday night meeting the bathtub upstairs overflowed and the ceiling fell down on the first few rows of "publishers." Most exciting meeting in years!!!

anything, shopping, movies, music, guys, clothes, gossip, service was mind-numbingly boring and we talked a lot to keep ourselves from dropping dead...plus had favorite donut shops, coffee shops, local hospital with good cafeterias, laundromats where we could zip through, offer the mags to everyone and get out.

my mother wore White Shoulders and I still think that is a really lovely perfume. But, for your wife, how about paying someone $50.00 to do something your wife doesn't like to do, like clean the house, maybe, or iron a week's worth of clothing, or something like that?
