Did anyone attend that meeting or has there been discussion here? I am curious if there was something new or more hard hitting than in the past?
I have not visiting here for a long time so hello to everyone. Life is good and I have mostly moved but it's sure nice to know I can pop back in occasionally for the latest Jdub scoop.

KRAFT Mac & Cheese It has to be Kraft, no off brand. And NO Trader Joes is not just as good.
Yes homemade is Wonderful but it is a different food all together. A box will sit in my pantry up to a year and then the day will come, I need it, gotta have it, OMG, I eat the whole box all by myself.

Super Bowl Halftime Shows
by JimmyPage inwhat do you think of the boss playing this year?
who would you like to see in the future?
what acts did you like or dislike in the past?

As a die-hard Bruce fan, having The BOSS as half time show was a treat. I sat in on the Super Bowl party for the free beer and Bruce but what I got was an action filled game to boot. Not a big football fan but that was a great game. Seemed 'Born to Run' was a fitting theme song.
Tom Petty did a good job last year and Bro Prince rocked the house a couple years back. Areo Smith was good as I remember. I'd like to see some Jazz, maybe Herbie Hancock in the future. Or a Big Production Vegas type show. How to cut it to 12 min, hum, glad I'm not a producer.

The average Witness just doesn't talk about doctrine anymore
by BonaFide inif you were "in the truth" for some years, you will remember this.
we used to have bible games at parties.
we used to discuss doctrinal matters in the car group in service, and at get-togethers.

Hello Jeremy, I've been meaning to send out a Hi to you. Yes, me too. I found field service burdensome also. It was dishonest and boring. It would have been a more spiritual experience as a Avon Lady than a JW. The longer I stayed the more emty I felt. The Rev Book study was the final straw. Parroting those paragraphs and squashing my own quieries sucked the life out of me. Then what fun I had digging into doctrin on the web. Wow, Thank the Internet Gods for blessed JWD.

Absolutly, this has been my experience also. As Blondie pointed out the current insturction for conducting Q+A meeting parts puts the Kabash on any discussion. Furthermore all the Jdubs I know don't really care what the doctirns are. One current active witness says, 'everyone does what they want' In other words they are there only for the social or cultural benefits. It really is a very arrogant way of life.

People who actually listened to Kingdom Melodies outside the Hall
by JimmyPage indid you know people like this?
you get in their car and the kingdom melodies are playing on prerecorded piano... you go to their house and there they are in an orchestral arrangement... even when i was a complete believer i cringed when i had to hear this banal crap!

my mom, 89, and her 3 close friends, hold a conference call each morning to discuss the text. They open with SINGING kingdom melodies, then the discussion and end with prayer. When I visit she always invites me to join in, um, that would be NO Thank you! Very strange to see her sitting on the bed and singing into the phone. From there she often keeps right on singing all day unless I break the KM hypnotic hold by putting a Dean Martin CD on. She loves Dino and goes right into 'Everybody Loves Somebody' phew, that's better.
