  Censorship, when to apply it?

  kathy griffin won an emmy award for her reality show " my life on the d list.

  " in her speech, griffin said that a lot of people come up here and thank jesus for this award.

  i want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than jesus.. she went on to hold up her emmy, make an off-color remark about christ and proclaim,"this award is my god now!".

  never...censorship is never acceptable to me..I would rather read, see, or hear something that was offensive to me than to know that someone wasn't able to express themselves in a way that was right and comfortable for them.

  do i detect a spirit of intolerance on the beloved jwd board?

  some posters can speak about anything and get a gaggle of positive responses.

  others get beaten down for simply expressing a different viewpoint.

  it's true...and it is the way it should be! you must CRUSH any opinions that differ with your own with an iron FIST!! Why, just the other day, the butcher at the grocery store told me that I shouldn't leave steaks under my couch...haHA!!!...I showed him! No matter what he said, I just kept telling him that I was right and his vile propaganda would not work on my advanced intellect...then I punched him in the throat and left.

  And that is what you must do on jwd...go back to your kingdom hall, you slithery snake of a jehovah's witnessssssSS!!!

  i found this board and have been reading what a lot of people have to say.

  i've found it very useful, interesting and informative.

  i'm 19 and am in a relationship with a jw who is 22. i know that this is a subject that has probably been posted many times but i wanted to see if anybody could offer me any advice.. i'm catholic myself and studying to be social worker with a major in theology.

  I was in the same situation only I was the JW. We've now been dating for two years. But the reason why i worked out was because I faded away. At the start, there was quite a bit of friction with the whole "you can't meet my JW friends or family" thing but after the fade, it was considerably. The integral part is that the JW in the relationship cease being a JW at some point. Are you prepared to wait as long as it takes?

  a carer of mine noticed that when some jws were doing door-door work, they had children with them.. she did think,those children should be at school,she thought those children were truancing..

  I'm not protesting that they want to protest. I'm saying that the subject of the protest is a weak issue. I love this thread because it shows the intolerance of the greater part of the xjw community. While JW's are intolerant of anything critical of JWs, a large portion of xjws are intolerant of anything that portrays JWs in a favorable light. It's funny, because it is exactly the same thought process as JWs have, but in the opposite extreme.

  People have the right to create any type of art they choose. Protesting a form of art (film) is nothing more than a grandiose way of saying "waaahh!! This thing makes me uncomfortable."

  Do you think that all films should be evenly ballanced in their view of a given subject matter? Where is it written that art can't be biased?

  Not to mention, why are they protesting outside of a television station? Why not outside of the director's house? I mean, seriously, if you're gonna do something do it F*#k'n right...geez.

  If all of the people who are going to protest want a ballanced movie on JWs, then why doesn't anyone make one instead of whining about it? You don't like it, don't watch it...It's not that hard...

  (note: you'll notice that I'm not arguing the merits of the film itself, nor am I endorsing it because I haven't seen it. I'm merely pointing out that protesting a film is as intelligent as protesting the color of a fire hydrant)

  Of course they have the right. Their policies are f*#ked, but what religion's aren't? Just because they practice things that most people find hard to swallow, doesn't mean that their right to practice them should come into question. It is an american religion, afterall....

  My business idea....along lines of"strip" clubs...What do ya think??

  i think this would really take off......instead of hiring "strippers" for a party....get "dressers"!!

  get wemon with less than perfect bodies...but big personalities (it would be a must to be able to do this) go to a party with very little clothing and get paid to "put it on!!!

  " the whole idea would be for a laugh and fun....no alterior motives.

  Not a bad idea...she'd have to be pretty rat for guys to pay her to put clothes on though....Kinda like the Rent-A-Nerd thing.
