ha ha.

it's my first day and i just can't get enough of jwd.

i feel like i'm actually protesting and it's great.

This board is great isn't it. I felt the same and that was one of the big reasons that got me thinking this isn't the troof, that and the whole sexual abuse cases. There just didn't seem to be a place for the sick and elderly, it was like in the dubs minds they just didn't exist anymore.

Oh well it's great to be free huh.

so hello everyone... i'm a brand new member and happy to be here... to know i am not alone.

i have been a jw since birth however i was never "encouraged"/forced to get baptised by my parents (lucky me!

) i always considered myself a member on the fringes of my congeregation and almost everybody treated me as a member even though i never commented or went in service.

what you said really struck a cord with me

it's been my experience that my school friends in "the world" were more accepting and christian and less hypocritical anyways.

as I have often thought and said this myself when I was growing up. Little did I know huh. I know it can seem daunting starting from scratch, having to make a whole new set of friends but you've made the right move joining the board, which is the first step.

I'm graduating tommorrow

it's been a nine year battle, but i'm finally graduating from college with a bachelor's degree and a certificate.

it's important to me that this community knows that.

there are probably a lot of you here who didn't allow themselves to go to college.

Update on my surgery, biopsy, etc

i had my colonoscopy and hemorrhoid surgery yesterday (sorry if that's oversharing but it's easier just to say what type of surgery up front ;) ).. the prep for the colonoscopy was difficult, i couldn't have anything but clear liquids the day before, in addition to special stuff you have to drink to, as grandpa would have said, "clean you out good", and not even water yesterday.

that was difficult because my check-in time was so late (2 pm).

that was made even worse when i got back to pre-op and the nurse said my doctor was running 2-3 hours behind due to a particularly difficult surgery that morning (just what i wanted, last surgery of a hard day!!).

That must be such a relief for you and your husband. I'm glad it's all over with, although sorry you felt so rough afterwards. I used to start crying uncontrollably when I came round from anesthetic, which was always quite embarressing.

Letter to mom

sent a letter to mom 4 days ago, came back today stamped "returned" on it... she wouldn't even open it... it had some nice comments in it too.

stupid blanking cult, blinds the eyes of folks so they won't even read what we have to say.

If you still wanted to try and reach her I think Sass's idea was a good one.

Two more exams down!!

have just finished the fourth and fifth of my 24-unit undergrad degree.

the first exam was for a very easy unit.

last week i got a weird phone call that i thought was a telemarketer with extremely poor english who had somehow gotten my details.

my son's father is a JW

my ex-husband is a jw and he has stuck this religon so far in our son's head that he takes are son to meeting and i was okay with him taking him for awhile but, know it's gone to far and he has gottan re-married and his new wife doesn't like me because i'm not in the box with them.

they are wanting to take my son from me because i'm a signal mother.

sorry my spelling is bad but if anyone could help me in this matter that would be great.... i don't want to get to personal.

I am so sorry you are going through this. My heart goes out to both you and your son. I hope the advice you have gotten has been helpful and please keep posting. We are always here if you need any support or further advice or just want tot talk.
