About the discernement :
2 Peter 3:15-16
AST
15. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote unto you; 16. as also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some things hard to be understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.NWT
15 Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul according to the wisdom given him also wrote YOU, 16 speaking about these things as he does also in all [his] letters. In them, however, are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unsteady are twisting, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.note hat untaugh does not mean exactly the same as ignorant (= about wisdom = Christ which haven't recognise what is related to him)
We know the WT wants to teach us everything through lots, lots, lots of studies and they make it obvious in there translation.
In french version : hard to understand is translate as obscure (= without the enlightement) and unstedfast wrest or unsteady is translated as without firmness = hypocrites (in one or all ways possible regarding to the matter).

A Bible Question, please comment
by restrangled inthere will have to be assumptions involved here.....that god exists, the bible is the word of god and creation is as stated in genesis, etc.
etc.. in the old testament, god seemed pretty straight forward, let certain people know (and not by osmosis) his intent.
backed certain kings, and showed power through physical occurrences over and over again.. along comes his son, who died for the entire race as a ransom for adam's sin.

Chosing Life : Jesus gave his life so that no one would be in slavery of any sort......not to religion, not to Governments etc.
Restangle : you need to look elsewhere for answers other than the Bible. Look closely at nature and deep inside yourself.
I'd say AMEN to both (since to me God is all - and by that inside ourself too)

I didn't know the gal but this surely talks a lot for her :
But what really set me straight about Tammy-Faye’s true Christian spirit was her response to a viewer on a call-in show. The caller was perplexed as to how to deal with her gay son, who she was about to disown due to his sinful lifestyle. Tammy-Faye’s answer: “I can’t think of a single sin that Jesus would find harder to forgive than a parent who chooses not to love and support their own child.”

what would any parents want for kids : To grow up (so it's all spiritual in this matter)
As you stated yourself (according to the OT) having a God protecting or punishing right now (having a double standard attitude to the point t be mean regarding to his agenda) doesn't lead anywhere if you don't take into consideration the agenda in question (and what it shows at the end).
The jews didn't grow up (more or less than others). In having a purpose (to get to some point - the arrival of Christ with hints along the way as propheties, what shows the OT is that the kind of God that most people want is not worthy : it doesn't allow us to grow up and being wiser without being perfect - that's why according to the gospel neither laws or acts do count - it just ask to have discernement in following Jesus spirituality as example and as a son of God) even propheties doesn't help (obviously).
About the NT (the Gospel) cheatears who just want it, knows how to attract nor push people to follow them ... they are willing to put more means (attractive to scary stuff) to get their, more than honest people. When there is something to win you always have people who will get into it (cheaters and their victimes) so obviously this would have take place in any kind of stuff ... so it happened here too ... the bible is actually full of hints to see what the cheaters would use to fool people ... you even have to read some stuff in reverse for it to make sens (and it does to me) for instance why Peter instead of John to be the shepard ... the best shepard you have to want him (and it's Christ) Peter was only supposed to bring people to the word (but only that in fact) all christian religious do that ... but then you have to care about who is the master ... it's not for the style that Christ ask 3 times : Peter do you love me ? (the message is more for us - get a clue about who really loves and recognise me for what I really am)
So this book is full of thinks that cheater can use (for them wanting to spread the word), but if you really search the truth I guess their is at least a chance to find out that they are cheaters (that's the first step) and then if you want to, you focus on Christ ... and oh (that's what it did to me) things become quiet clear.
For instance regarding to the catolic's who said that Peter will have a successor on earth, who said till when he would have the key ? and more over which real important have this key at the end after death? why would someon wise put such power into a human hands ? ...You can make the same kind of statements to question JW's postulate about the GB.

What happens to Christ after he subjects himself to God?
by esw1966 in1 cor 15:28 - when he has done this, then the son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that god may be all in all.
what happens to jesus at this point?
if he is part of a trinity, does he meld into god and disappear?

(To me)
It seems to say that when everything will be in order (ok) their will be no reason to keep separated any kind of essence as spirit in God since the conscience/wisdom (in fact the most valuable part of the essence of God) = Christ had to be separed while working on the whole to have the right perspective and stay perfect (not polluted) to preserve what is adhering to his phylosophy (that's why we don't have to be perfect since we can't - we just need to adhere as volonteer = we have to want it otherwise it would be a rape against our free will) ... at the end he will really share himself into the whole preserved.

And to go further on the matter :
That's also why christ is God's wisdom (somehow it's maturity in every sense) and that is what is asked to be recognised and have faith in (= Christ = his wisdom = his doctrine as christian or not or then you're an appostate but only then - the real baptisme is not the water one Eph 4: 4-5 and Mat 3:11).
I Cor 1 : 21 (what)
American standard version
21. For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.NWT version
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not get to know God, God saw good through the foolishness of what is preached to save those believing.Which explain the need of discernment (what is expressed even in readind in between the lines) it have to make sens globally or there is a problem in the understanding regardind to the goal (why this have been written - and it shouldn't lead to be slaves for salvation but free as salvation by wisdom = Christ to resume) ...
I Cor 2 : 7-8 (who = the sacred secret)
American standard version
7.but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, [even] the [wisdom] that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory: 8.which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:
NWT version
7 But we speak God’s wisdom in a sacred secret, the hidden wisdom, which God foreordained before the systems of things for our glory. 8 This [wisdom] not one of the rulers of this system of things came to know, for if they had known [it] they would not have impaled the glorious Lord. -

To me all religions will fail at the end (this one include : they are all the great slut ... LOL don't remember the propper term) ... people will get enough (at the end) with their bullshit masked being a supposed spirituality. "The light get brighter" little by little "nothing can stay hidden" ...
Christianity is not a question of religion it's in fact more a phylosophy (to me) -

To complete the idea
There is a reason why Christ does talk like a son to a father when in Jesus position (cause he is in fact our father - regarding the Tegragrammation and the verses aboves - and more) :
As Jesus he give an example as a man and spiritually will still have to recognise the greatest in the tiniest (all those which gives God more importance than Christ - which is actually it's maturity which make the Yod alive even its conscience to be alive (when we are not conscious even alive like in coma we don't know that we are alive do still exist) is the vav. (if you talk for instance to God as Yod (whitout taking in consideration Christ you talk to everything back to "If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also" he is in fact the way what is true in the kind of God / vav that people are thinking about and the way) ... It takes those who care more about what is bigger at there own game.
Also : That's why he is the word/the verb (what answers the questions = conscience and the need = action). just like our own conscience (somehow the product of ) our experience talks to us and lead us to act/react.
