The creation account versus evolution, is as pointless as the cross vs stake controversy, regarding to the question of GOD
Believers as not believers can be spiritual enough to realize that evolution takes place in every matter and ways (materialy / spychologically)But when evolution doesn't mean, better than yesterday. Maturity is supposed to take yesterday's experience in consideration.
No proof = no proof
Do we really need to know ?
is this most important thing ?To me the priority is elswere and I guess it have more to do with respect than improvable truth.
The evolution therory is not a proof (no link when we should have them) and the creation account is an image (well ... at this point anybody can just make a choice) it wouldn't exclude God anywa (but again it all depends on how we see/imagine God) then of course this can be what will make the difference in the choice.

DOES FORGIVENESS MAKE ANY SENSE?
by Terry inwhat you reward you tend to get more of.. what you punish tends to atrophy.. the balance between a good act and a bad one consists of the consequences.. society has found many ways to treat bad behavior.
the worst being imprisonment and execution (if not torture) for high crimes.. but, there is a core philosophy among altruists and christians of a certain stripe who advocate forgiveness.. so, we ask the question : does forgiveness make any sense?.
when we do harm we cause an effect.. the effect injures others or their property.. to restore what is harmed a system of justice has developed to deal with administering the pressure toward restoration (when possible).. fines, community service, reparation for damages all constitute that restoration process.. insurance companies act as brokers in the case of "accidental" causes and effects and their remedy.. but, in the realm of religion the principle of forgiveness rears its ugly head!.

Forgiveness is a personnal mean to get read of unuseful to auto-destructive bad feelings.
But it is not necessary as a tool for all people to use.
In the justice system, reparation can be payment for a crime without forgiveness. A jury or a judge cannot enact forgiveness, a society cannot really even enact forgiveness, but each can demand reparation. It is perhaps the duty of a society or jury to apply justice by means of reparation in some way - imprisonment, humility, financially - but it is not the duty of society to determine forgiveness. I do not see forgiveness as being necessary to apply justice to someone. sammieswife.
Who said that it is necessary (as if you have to absolutely) ? Who said it's the duty of society to determine forgiveness (as if it was a law) ?... It's a personnal choice/tool for our own relief (you chose to, nobody can help you about that) ... Also to forgive do not imply no justice ... if for instance somebody have to go to jail it is not because you forgive that he does not have to go to jail (again there is a mixe here in between to forgive and to have somebody to pay a bill). Also it is not because you forgive a so called friend who hurted you for instance, that he/she can be your friend again (you choose - regarding to what it is all about).

The minds which made up these myths were not in the least thinking through the implications in the Axial age.
also here I guess there is a confusion in between myths and images/symbolisms ... Maybe you think that everything should have been written in scientific termes and explanations not provable at there period of time means = for us, before us - they jailed and killed a few scientists because of that ... how would they have deal with the book (it had to be spread ... LOL).
So images and symbolisms can make it all (it's a conceptual idea - you don't really have to bother about the details) and if you do have to deal with details it's better to stay realistic than wanting the image to be exactly what it pictured (if you do not have the symbolic approach)
Creating Eve out a one of Adams bone - is quiet symbolic for instance ... Now of course you can think that it have something to do with DNA ... but truly I guess it's better to stay simple ... the men would need women as a part of themself and vice and versa (the rib is realed to the skeleton structure) 2 in 1 or 1 in 2 to do what they have to do together (Same for what is God regarding to Christ) the only difference is that human beings do have different spirits (so they have to agree to be fine together).

You left out the most important part of forgiveness: the guilty party get's off freewithout paying!
You can't have one without the other.
Again you mixe 2 kinds of forgiveness - I don't care the second one I have no real control over it (to make anybody to pay anything). But I have the control of myself in using the kind of forgiveness that we are talking about (but if you mixe both you're not going anywhere or you stick on THEY HAVE TO PAY ... yeah I agree ... but not sur it helps to get a guilty one in jail for instance).

To "want" anybody to pay a bill is possible you just have to want it, but you can chose to help yourself in not putting too much weigh into this to keep your own balance becauseto "make sure" that he/she will pay the bill is not totally in our hands unless we feel to hurt on purpose (as a revange - and we can die before ... so it looks like vanity - something vain).
If it is only to keep something against someone who hurted us and who maybe don't even care about us ...Where does this leads ? Is there any benefit ? ... It's all about that - we can destroy our positive energy in holding something against someone - when he/she maybe don't even think about us the way we would like to, weither we forgive or not (this too do not depends on us)
Forgiveness does no mean forget either : experience / human justice if possible as a charitable act to protect others / ...) ... Forgiveness is a personnal mean to get read of unuseful to auto-destructive bad feelings.

I would separate forgiveness from resentment altogether.
Why ? Since they are bond together in its global meaning as effect for a relief - when you only want to give it a precise meaning = Pardon which have more to do with to pay or not to pay a bill ... (re-think that).
