OMG! Remember EVE! This could finally be the break that Satan has been looking for to get influence into the Congregations!

Sickening "Encouragement" from Facebook "Friends"
by CaptainSchmideo ini know a woman on facebook who recently lost her husband unexpectedly, and at a relatively young age.
(my age, and i still consider myself relatively young.).
so, here she is, still raising some of her children, finding herself looking for work in her mid-forties with few salable job skills in a depressed economy, and missing her husband terribly.

I was for a long time then got a touch of the Big C and decided to try it. It brings me a lot of joy.
Congrats to the lawmakers with the courage to create the law despite the huge pushback they must have taken from bikers advocates.

Shamus - good for them. Some riders feel a loud bike is helpful for safety and that may be the case, BUT the amount of noise some blast out is a violation of basic community civility.

I believe that anyone who lives by decent standards and then leaves them can suffer and have serious regrets.
The difference is that JW's live by some principles and a plethora of rules. Some of which they know are complete hogwash, especially congregational specific rules. e.g. To have counting time be explained via "biblical principle" has the effect of crushing common sense and true moral standards. The overall effect is that when they break free from the idiotic rules they break free from what they likely would keep for standards if not compressed by the weight of "Mother's" silly controlling rules.

Mormons Peddling on my Street
by cameo-d inthey were wearing suspenders, black pants, long sleeve white shirt and white helmets.. i was available; out in my yard----but they did not stop.. do you suppose they just go out riding to "put in time" like the jws?
do they hang out in coffee shops?
are they expected to turn in "time cards" and "potential converts"?

They do this for up to two years. According to this site (below) females and even older ones do, but I can confirm in Maine I only see young males. It says on this site that males can apply at 19 and women at 21.

My friend needs help with a question about Jesus Apostles.......
by awildflower inthe other day in conversation with her husband, she was bringing out how jesus didn't start a congregation.
he said that the fact that jesus choice 12 apostles to 'take the lead' and look out after the sheep, is proof that the current elder arrangement is biblical.
she didn't know how to answer him and would like your opinions or research on the topic.. so the question is: are jesus 12 apostles proof of an elder arrangement?.

Of course not. Does it prove that Jesus delegated, yes. But the logic used by the elder would also 'prove' that the Catholic Bishop arrangement is proper or the 12 Mormon Apostles are divine.
I think a very appropriate counter question to ask in return would be. If Jesus 'chose' the Bible Students in 1919, why didn't they know it for 10 years? It wasn't until 1929 that this 'New Light' was revealed. That is not how it was done with Paul or any of the other Prophets or Apostles Jesus or Jehovah chose.
